Dollar Store Theft

Posted on January 17, 2010May 7, 2017 by Mandy

As I started putting my purchases on the counter in Dollar General this morning, the cashier leaned closer to me and said, “When you told your little boy he couldn’t have that chocolate candy, he put it in your purse.”

I peered down into my purse, and sure enough…there was the pack of Rollo’s I told E.B. he couldn’t get. No wonder the child didn’t put up a fuss when I told him no.

So today we had “the talk” on what stealing is and why it’s wrong. Fitting for a Sunday, I suppose. What kills me is that he did it right under my nose and I never even noticed. The child is good.

Over Or Under?

Cottonelle is calling on people everywhere to settle the great toilet paper debate….over or under? By leaving a comment on this post, you will be entered to win 1 of 10 Cottonelle gift baskets randomly chosen on January 29, 2010 from all entries. Visit the Cottonelle Roll Poll and cast your vote!

As for my house, we’re definitely Team Over!

I am entering a contest for a month’s worth of Cottonelle toilet paper as a member of the Mom Bloggers Club.

Winter Storm FAIL

Posted on January 10, 2010September 9, 2010 by Mandy

I know after my last post you all are probably just hanging on the edge of your seats, salivating for the grand pictures of the gigantic snowman, the recipe for “snow cream”, and excerpts on how we spent our big snow day at home because school and work was cancelled!

So, Wednesday evening, the weathermen on all of our local viewing area channels were in a tizzy! The BIG ARTIC BLAST was coming. There would be ICE! SNOW! HAZZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS! The Weather Channel even sent out their top dogs to the deep South to cover this amazing event because we were totally in for it! I made the obligatory trip to Wal-Mart and the place was absolutely trashed because THE BIG ONE was coming!

So, being the fun mom I am, I let E.B. stay up later than usual that night. He was darn near squealing with excitement, and so was I. Because when we woke up, there would be SNOW!!!

And then we woke up….and it was cold. No snow. No school cancellation. No work cancellation. But, OH WAIT!! Sleet! All 10 minutes of it! And then flurries!!! We have flurries, people!!! Here it comes!!!

And so it flurried. And flurried. And flurried. As of today, we still have flurries, but not one drop of accumulated snow. None. We got NONE!

Thanks again Mother Nature! And the next time I want my local forecast, I’ll just grab my Magic 8 Ball since that’s just as accurate as what the weatherman says.
