OxiClean Power Paks and Max Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater

Posted on February 1, 2010September 8, 2010 by Mandy

If you’re already a big fan of OxiClean products, you will be excited to know that OxiClean has unveiled two new powerful stain-fighting products to help make preserving your clothes that much easier.

The OxiClean Power Paks and Max Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater will be hitting store shelves in mid-February, but thanks to Mom Central and OxiClean I was given a “sneak peak test drive” of these and was seriously impressed. The Max Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater salvaged one of my white tee shirts that had been stained with spaghetti sauce. I also appreciated the fact that it was in a stick packaging, not a spray. To use, all I had to do was simply push down on the stick and the gel released, much easier for my arthritic hands than fumbling with a spray bottle.

I’m definitely sold on the Power Packs, though. Think OxiClean powder in convenient little packs that you just toss in with your laundery. It made the clothes smell fabulous once they were finished washing, and the best part was that there was no messy measuring of powder. This was my favorite of the two and I will be purchasing these on a regular basis.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of OxiClean and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Alternative Birthday Idea

Posted on January 31, 2010September 8, 2010 by Mandy

As I looked around E.B.’s bedroom this past week I made an executive decision. Based upon the outrageous amounts of toys received during the holidays and making note that all but 2 of those toys had seen actual playtime, I decided that E.B. would not be having a birthday party next month.

I know. I know. I’m a terrible mom and such a funsucker, right?

I do plan to send cupcakes to school on the day of his actual birthday so he can “celebrate” with his friends that day, but we’ve decided this year to take him on a little weekend roadtrip and do some fun things instead of having a traditional party with another slew of gifts.

On that list of fun things? A monster truck show. Ohdearlordbabyjesus, I never thought I would be caught dead at one of those, but E.B. loves monster trucks, and who am I to deny the birthday boy that small pleasure in life? We’re also planning to stop in at Incredible Pizza and perhaps the Memphis Zoo, depending on the weather. So, the celebration will still go on, just a little differently this year.

How does your family celebrate birthdays? Big parties, small get-togethers, fun activities? I’m always open to alternative ideas, so share with me how your family does things.

The Case For No More Babies

Posted on January 30, 2010May 7, 2017 by Mandy

While looking through baby pictures of E.B. tonight, I started remembering things.

Things like tiny, brand new little baby hands:

Things like chubby baby arms and thighs:

And cute little ears.

And I am convinced, now more than ever of one thing. I do not want another baby. I do not want another baby. I DO NOT want another baby.

Repeat as necessary.
