Since being diagnosed 6 years ago at the ripe old age of 30 with Rheumatoid Arthritis, I just can’t wear high heels and rely on flats for dressier shoes and of course, my tennis shoes whenever I can.  I’ve had to forgo a lot of fashionable shoes in favor of comfort, and quite frankly, it’s been very disappointing. 

When offered the chance to review a pair of HotterUSA Shoes, I was very skeptical of falling in love with a shoe I had not tried on personally and also skeptical of the claim that these were “stylish shoes with comfort built in”.  Stylish shoes had always meant “painful” in my past experiences.

However, with the freedom to choose any pair I wanted to try, I wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass me by.  After looking over the selection of women’s shoes, I decided my wardrobe was lacking a cute pair of boots and chose these:

And when would the best time be to try out these boots?  A job in retail, of course….during the holidays.

I chose a busy day to wear these to work at the bookstore and was on my feet quite a bit, save to sit down and have lunch.  These boots were never uncomfortable at any point, they never rubbed into my calves like most do, and I was very, very impressed.  I even got complimented on how cute they were! 

According to the company, each pair of HotterUSA Shoes are injected with hundreds of tiny air bubbles into the soles, creating the feeling of walking on air.  Sizing is made easy with their fitting guide and my shoes fit perfectly!  And if you need it, they even carry extra wide shoes which can be tough to find while not compromising style.

I am 100% pleased with my boots.  HotterUSA Shoes even carries a men’s selection if you’re still holiday shopping and in the market for a great pair of comfortable shoes for the man on your list.

After the long, hot summers we have here in the South, I look forward to winter each year, but the thing I dislike about winter most is the dry skin issues our entire family has. 

I constantly wash my hands and use a ton of antibacterial hand sanitizer on a daily basis, so my hands are always super dry.  My son also has dryness issues, especially on his knees and elbows.  And as winter ushers in, it just exacerbates those dryness issues even more.

We were recently given the opportunity to try out Johnson’s Shea & Cocoa Butter line of baby oil products to see how they worked for our specific dry skin issues.

OUR THOUGHTS:

The Johnson’s Baby Creamy Oil (the lotion on the left) was the most effective for my dry hands and my son’s skin without leaving the feeling of being greasy.  I love the scent of shea and cocoa butter, but feel it could be toned down a notch.  The smell didn’t bother me, but my son complained about it. (He is overly sensitive to things, so this is just our experience)  I used the creamy baby oil on my son after his bath and also rubbed it into my own hands while dressing him. Overall, I was pleased with the Creamy Baby Oil the most and feel it’s the best fit of the three products for our family. 

I love the concept of a baby oil in a gel, but it still left behind a feeling of greasiness that I just don’t like on my hands or clothes.  The baby oil was completely too greasy.  I really thought the oil and oil gel would absorb into the skin much better than it did, but it still left behind a wet, greasy feeling.  Perhaps if someone had major dry skin issues this would work really well for them, but I think of the three products, we will stick with the creamy oil.
