I have never in my life actually clamied to have been a Yanni fan. The only thing I knew about him was that he composed and performed instrumental music and I would often see his albums being sold through television commercials. I’m pretty open-minded when it comes to music and am willing to listen to anything once, so when I had the opportunity to review Yanni Voices I couldn’t resist because I hate not being able to say I haven’t listened to certain artists.
The music itself on this CD was amazing. “Our Days” was very cool sounding and my favorite track on the CD. I could also see “Never Leave The Sun” being something you might even hear on VH1 or contemporary radio stations. However, some of the lyrics to some of the songs were a little cheesy and just didn’t seem to fit, although the performer’s voices were beautiful.
There is no doubt that Yanni is an amazing artist and while I enjoyed Yanni Voices, Yanni certainly doesn’t need the help of anyone singing to his music because his music is good enough to stand alone.
