We Need A Little Christmas

I had big plans for our holiday season.  I couldn’t wait to be on Christmas break from work so I could spend it baking, cleaning, and soaking up all the holiday goodness with my family.  However, the best-laid plans and all that. More on that to come.  I need a little mood boost, so I thought I would share some pictures of a little Christmas around our home.

We Need A Little Christmas

So, here is this year’s tree.  We put it up the day after Thanksgiving. Our tree is always a hodge-podge of ornaments from childhood, some our son made at school when he was younger, and some I’ve bought along the way.

One of my favorite little pieces of Christmas decor is this little red Christmas Countdown truck.  I found this at Dollar General a couple of years ago.  It has held up incredibly well and I just think it’s cute.

We’ve gotten several Christmas cards and I just love receiving them!  We’ve put them on the mantle this year.  I always save them to look back on.

We have human Christmas stockings, of course, but Jake (the neighbor’s cat who lives with us) has his own little special stocking for Christmas morning.

About all I had the energy to put out this year was our tree, stockings, and this little truck.  There was a good reason for that, come to find out.  I’ll expand on that more tomorrow hopefully.  I still have quite a few things I need to get done before Christmas Eve.
