We just got back from our little family getaway to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and one of the highlights of our trip was going to see the Texas Rangers play the Minnesota Twins at the Ballpark in Arlington.  This was the first Major League Baseball game my son and I had ever attended (my husband is a HUGE Ranger’s fan), so I was anxious to see a “real game”.

The sky started clouding over after the game started, which was a welcomed site because it was HOT.  My makeup was melting down my face, my hair was dripping wet, and it looked as if no relief was in site.  We heard a rumble of thunder, but it wasn’t anything terrible sounding.  I had brought my umbrella just in case.

And then this happened:

Thankfully, nobody was injured.  However, I have never been so scared silly in all of my life.  Apparently, lightning hit somewhere nearby the stadium (that flash of light you see on the screen), and the thunder was the loudest sound I have ever heard in my entire life, proving that everything really IS bigger in Texas.

That’s crazy! We were just there a few weeks ago for a game. Did the crowd go crazy? It had to be super loud for the players to just run off the field like that!

Tamara, everyone scattered once they could gather their composure. LOL! It was scary at the moment, but then everyone was under the stadium laughing about it afterwards. Was it as hot at the game you went to? I thought I would seriously melt in that heat!

And what a memory was made! LOL! That’s the ONE thing I will always remember about my first MLB game.

I have seen that video a few times & for it to be that loud on TV it had to be REALLY loud in person. I would have had a major panic attack, considering my phobia of loud noises!

Katie, it was unbelievable!! I think everyone sat there stunned for about 2 seconds before they started scattering. It was so stinkin’ LOUD!!
