Shopping for Glasses

I’ve finally had to realize that I need a new pair of eyeglasses.  I haven’t picked out a new pair of frames since I was nineteen years old.  I’ve been a contact lense wearer since I was 12 years old, but some eye infections in the past few months have made me realize a back-up pair of specs are now in order.

I recently had an eye exam to be fitted for prescription glasses but have yet to actually pick out a pair of new glasses.  It takes me a while to choose a pair I am happy with because the lenses have to be so thick.  I only use them in case of emergencies, which don’t happen very often, but I’m still embarrassed at how thick the lenses have to be and how they make my eyes looks so tiny through the lenses.

I’ve been looking around online at Glasses USA and getting some ideas for choosing a new pair of glasses.  There are so many great choices, brands, and styles that I’m actually enjoying this shopping around process for something I normally dread purchasing.  The hard part will now be in the deciding.

I’ve never bought a pair of glasses online, but the process seems very simple and not having to make another appointment to be fitted for them is very convenient.  If you’re in the market for new glasses, GlassesUSA is offering my blog readers 10% off their purchase using the code mommy10 when prompted at their website.
