Pampers Firsts Giveaway

Posted on February 2, 2015January 20, 2024 by Mandy

Celebrating each “first” with my son is one of the most joyous part of being his mom.  It started with the very first time I ever saw him on his sonogram and still continues today.  We’ve been through a lot of “firsts”, and we have plenty more to go.  I look forward to each one of these milestones of watching him grow into the incredible young man he is becoming.  Of course, I remember the first time I held him, his first bath, and the first time we brought him home from the hospital, but one of my very favorite “firsts” was his first Christmas.  He was so excited, and we were so excited to finally have a child.  Of course, I think we went a little overboard on his first Christmas gifts when I look back at these pictures.  I saved the adorable little outfit he wore in this picture and have a hard time believing this was almost ten years ago!

Pampers, the number one choice of hospitals in North America and the first diaper worn by millions of babies, comforts and protects them through their entire amazing journey of firsts.  Pampers Swaddlers is Pampers softest diaper and offers up to twelve hours of overnight protection.  They have a color changing wetness indicator that signals when baby may need to be changed and an Absorb Away Liner® to pull wetness and mess away from babies’ skin.  Pampers listened to moms who said they wanted the Pampers Swaddlers softness they know and love to be available throughout their diapering years and they are now available through size 6!

In honor of this special journey, Pampers has released a compilation video entitled “Firsts” that highlight those wondrous “first” experiences together. From the first time parents see their little one on a sonogram to the first evening home from the hospital, the Pampers “Firsts” video showcases precious, heart-felt moments babies and parents share together. Pampers recognizes that all first moments, no matter how big or small, are moments to be cherished and celebrated. Pampers is honored to be a part of the journey of firsts for millions of families around the world every day.

For some people, standing out is important in this big world. This desire to be set apart from all the others doesn’t stop when it comes to choosing a vehicle, either. How many times have you driven a vehicle you purchased off the lot, only to see at least ten more of the same model passing you down the road almost immediately while driving around town? The MINI Youification Model is your best bet if you’re set on purchasing a MINI, but want to personalize it for a truly unique vehicle. There are several models in this series to choose from, including the JCW, Vivid Green, Union Jack, and Black Jack. Each of these models have specific features you can jazz up with design, including roof graphics, mirror caps, and side scuttles.  Read the full article at Mini of Baltimore County.

5 Quick Car Trip Preps

Posted on February 1, 2015January 10, 2016 by Mandy

Driving

There’s nothing like hitting the road for some much-needed travel time, but before you leave for your next adventure, be sure to give your vehicle these five quick checks to make sure your trip goes smoothly and that you arrive at your destination safely.

Gas Up – Nothing ruins a trip faster than running out of gas before you can reach the nearest station.  Make sure you have plenty of fuel before you leave and try not to let your tank run below half full.

Air Up – Checking your tire pressure only takes a couple of minutes and can also save you some trouble further down the road.  You’ll get better gas mileage and possibly avoid blowouts and flats.  To read the full article, visit Priority 1 Automotive Group.

Could a Porsche Fit Your Family Car Needs?

Could A Porsche Fit Your Family Car Needs?

I’m sure our small family car probably sticks out like a sore thumb in the carpool line at my son’s school. Being a one-child family, we simply have no need for a bigger vehicle and a car is the most practical means of transportation for our family. However, just because you drive a small family car doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the sleek look of a sportier vehicle.

Let’s face it, before I checked out their inventory, if you had told me that a Porsche could be a great family vehicle I would have laughed. All I could think of was a classy, small two-seater flying down the road at high speed. Fit a family of three in that? No way!

5 Funny Snow Day School Closing Videos

Posted on January 29, 2015February 8, 2024 by Mandy

I found 5 funny snow day school closing videos guaranteed to make you laugh!  When I was growing up, I lived for snow days!  We didn’t get very many that I recall when I was in elementary school, but when we did, you can be sure I had so much fun!  My neighborhood friends and I would gather and pretend we were ice skating on the frozen parking lot of a church nearby, building a snowman, and having snowball fights!  When we were finished, we would gather at someone’s house for a nice mug of hot chocolate!

When It Snows

While many of you who live in the Northern part of the US are probably very sick of the snow by now, we live for snow days that cancel school down South.  We know you seasoned winter bunnies laugh at us because shutting down the entire county doesn’t take much.  I’ll even admit that working in a school, I get excited over snow days.  We had a couple last year, but making them up was no fun.  So, in the spirit of celebrating snow days, check out these five awesomely funny snow day school closing videos from principals all across the country.

5 Funny Snow Day School Closing Videos

I’m pretty sure my principals growing up never got this creative when announcing school closings, but then again, we didn’t have the internet when I was growing up.  Haha!  We had to sit and wait by our television screens to see our school’s name scrolling across the bottom, or we listened to the local radio station to announce it.

Can you remember snow day school closings when you were growing up?  If so, tell me your memories!

Valentine’s Day Word Search-Free Printable for Heart Day Fun

Posted on January 27, 2015January 19, 2023 by Mandy

This Valentine’s Day Word Search is a free printable for you!  Along with coloring pages, my students love word searches.  I often use these for theme-related centers in the library and use the words to teach vocabulary skills.  I also believe that puzzles like this exercise the brain a little!  Of course, the kids think they are fun.  Holiday word searches are especially cool, and this printable Valentine’s Day word search is perfect for adding in a little fun.  Know what else?  It would be a great activity for a school Valentine’s Day party.

Valentine’s Day Word Search

Valentine's Day Word Search

My students sometimes like to work on these together and see who can be the first to find all the words.  Some of them are pretty fast, too!  This is a great filler when students have finished their work and are teetering on the edge of boredom.  You know….that student. *ahem*   You can even have students turn the page over and write a sentence with each word.  My students always look forward to the different holidays because they know they will get a fun word search.  Finding different words also helps increase their vocabulary.  This is because they get introduced to words they might have never seen before.  They love them so much they even ask for extras to take home to work on.

You could also read the kids a book about Valentine’s Day while they work on this.  Need a fun game to play?  Print out this free Valentine’s Day matching game.  This game is a great center activity as well.  Perfect for those younger students who are learning to match.

Enjoy and have a  Happy Valentine’s Day!
