Sunday Sickies

Posted on March 4, 2012January 10, 2016 by Mandy

E.B. woke up with a coughing fit at 2 AM this morning, then proceeded to get sick. All over the bed. It required a bath for him and lots of sheet washing. Once I got him bathed, he settled back in for the rest of the night and slept well. He has been fighting this nasty “Delta Crud”, what we here in the Mississippi Delta affectionately call a terrible allergy/sinus infection combo that hardly ever responds to medicine and just has to run its course in most cases. He’s been to the doctor twice and we thought we were all good, but then came the coughing. It doesn’t help at all that our weather has been going from one extreme to the other on a daily basis. It’s been unseasonably warm this winter and the pollen from the flowers and trees blooming out is tough. I hope he can kick this soon.

The countdown is officially on this week. Only 5 working days until Spring Break! Being able to be home with E.B. during the summer and holidays is something I really appreciate about my job. I have lots of little projects around our apartment that I want to accomplish on my 9 days off. I’ve been reading so many home decor/DIY blogs (and of course, Pinterest) lately that I’m feeling so inspired to make a few little changes. Of course, we plan to get outside as much as the weather allows. I’ve been joking with some co-workers that since we’ve had such amazing weather lately that it will come a blizzard during our week off. I hope not!

But for now, E.B. and I are camped out in the living room taking it easy, watching copious amounts of Nick Jr., catching up on blog reading (me), and just being together. The laundry and housework is all done. I love times like this when I can just sit down and be with my little guy.
