So, tomorrow E.B. is supposed to be the ring bearer in my cousin’s wedding. Rehearsal didn’t go so hot tonight. E.B. just wasn’t in a cooperative mood, so I don’t know how how tomorrow is going to pan out.

But, he did provide some comic relief at the rehearsal dinner. While waiting in the buffet line he asked me very loudly:

E.B.: “Mama, where’s Daddy?”

ME: He’ll be back soon, sweetie. We will see him after the dinner.”

E.B.: “Mama, is Daddy in jail again?”
Cue the messed up looks from the guests nearby.

You know the times when you just wish the ground beneath you would swallow you up whole? That was definitely one of them.

(And no, Cracked Daddy has never gone to jail.)

That's funny! Hope the wedding goes well. Last time I was in a wedding party that included a kid, there was a little too much vomit for my liking. But how cute do little boys look in suits? Awww!

Oy, I know how you feel. My oldest was ring bearer at my brother's wedding when he was almost 3 years old. In the middle of the ceremony he screamed out "I gotta go potty!" I was up on the bima with the wedding party. Hubby took the kiddo to the bathroom and then they came back. Sure enough seconds later I hear behind me "I gotta go potty!" Thank goodness the rabbi was rolling with it and had a nice punch line. The best part, hubby was smart enough NOT to take him back in for a hat trick on this routine.

I hope that E.B. does well when it really counts at the real wedding.
