The economic downturn has been a hot topic and on everyone’s minds lately, and with good reason. It affects all of us and does not discriminate on race, gender, or net worth. One of the most proactive things I think anyone can do during this time is to be smart with their purchases, and the editors at Good Housekeeping have written Good Deals & Smart Steals to help you get the most bang for your buck.

This book covers a multitude of great tips and tricks for getting a great deal, from saving on your grocery bill to even saving on bigger splurges, like cars and trips. If you think you’ve heard all of these same tips before elsewhere, I can promise you won’t be disappointed should you decide to purchase the book. It’s one I will refer to again and again as needed. It’s also a very handy-sized book, so it’s great to tuck in your purse to read on the go.
