Happy Monday! It’s been a beautiful weekend here, and it’s much needed after all the rain last week! We stayed busy on Saturday, but Sunday was pretty calm, as it should be. Here’s what we were up to this weekend!
Senior Skit
Saturday was Senior Skit Day for the Teen. The senior students performed skits they made up at our local performing arts center. The Teen did not want to be featured in any of the skits, so he chose to work the set. I’ll be honest: hubby and I were not expecting too much because The Teen made it sound like the whole thing might be a disaster. Practices had been hit or miss with who showed up, props were late arriving for practices, and The Teen wasn’t feeling too confident in his abilities to do set work. But y’all, these kids knocked this out of the park, and they were HILARIOUS! There was no flat delivery of lines; they were animated and into it, and it was amazing! I could have sat there all day and watched them! I am so glad they did this, and it was a fun way to spend an hour on a Saturday morning!
Mexican Food
After the skit, we decided to eat at a local Mexican restaurant. I ordered a potato fajita. I usually get this a lot when I go there, but something was different this time, and not in a good way. I was so disappointed! Bummer!
The rest of Saturday was spent catching up on some rest after hubby left to go back out on the road. I spent most of Sunday doing laundry and tidying up the downstairs. I watched a few YouTube videos and played games on my iPad. For some reason, I just needed some mindless activities. My concentration just wasn’t there to deal with much else.
Other Senior Activities
The Teen’s graduation invitations came in, so I’ve got to get busy sending them out. He is on a college tour trip today with some of his class. They were visiting two schools: one university in our town and a junior college about thirty minutes away. I’m anxious to hear what he thinks about them both. He thinks he has decided on the junior college, but it will be his first time visiting the school, so that could change. We will see!

What fun! That was a huge cast for the skit. It is hard to believe that graduation time is just around the corner.
Their class has really grown over the years. Different ones were in different skits. They were all hilarious!
His class has really grown in size over the past few years. They did such a great job, though! A great way to spend a Saturday morning!
The senior skits sound like a lot of fun. I guess one of the advantages of a smaller school is that they can do something like that. Good luck to your son in deciding what he wants to do after graduation. I’ve never seen a potato fajita, but it sounds good. I never met a potato I didn’t like. 🙂
LOVE me some potatoes! Haha! Yes, I am so thankful he has been able to attend smaller schools for all of his years. It has really made the difference for him!

That food looks so delicious, and I’m really happy for you that the show was enjoyable. It’s tough, isn’t it, choosing what to do. Our daughter once chose something, but after half a year, she quit and went in a completely different direction with her studies.

Hi Aritha! Your daughter sounds like me growing up! I went back and forth trying to decide what to study. I told our son it’s ok if he changes his mind. He is young, and we want him to try new things until he figures it out.

It’s hard to choose where to go and what to do after graduation – lots of pressure on those kids. Hope the teens day went well and he feels good about his plan!
Yes, it really is a lot of pressure. And 18 is so young to decide what to do with the rest of your life. I know I was so confused and undecided for a long time. We told him it’s ok to pivot if he discovers this isn’t what he wants. Better to do it young when he doesn’t have a lot of responsibilities. Haha!
