Today I have some free Hibernation Color By Number Coloring Pages to share!  As a young kid in elementary school, I remember learning about animals and when and why they hibernated.  It was fascinating that animals could hunker down like that to pass the cold winter season.  The colder it gets in winter, I wish I could hibernate, haha!  When you think of hibernation, mostly bears come to mind, but so many other animals hibernate as well!

I loved using color-by-number coloring pages for my younger students while working as an elementary school librarian.  It helped them learn their colors and make the necessary connections to learn which color to use and when.  However, when my older students saw any of these extra coloring pages, you better believe they begged to do them too!  Ha!  And I always let them.  I believe coloring is great therapy no matter how old you are.

I can remember learning about George Washington as a young child in school. However, after becoming an educator, I learned much more about this man nicknamed the Father of Our Country.

Did You Know?

George Washington was elected President without any competition.

He was the only President to go into battle while serving as the President.

By the time he became President, he had only one tooth.  He started losing his teeth when he was 22 years old.

He did not have a middle name.

Books and Other Activities About George Washington

As a former elementary school librarian, I’ve had the opportunity to experience many books about George Washington.  If you are looking for more picture books to enhance your learning activity, these are a few that I would recommend.  These were always a favorite with my students.

Halloween Plans

Do you have big plans for Halloween this year?  Our family looks forward to handing out candy.  We get tons of trick-or-treaters each year, and we have to start early with candy buying!  This year we will be purchasing our candy in bulk to help save as much money as possible.  Last year we went through two big plastic tubs full, and we anticipate that amount being a lot more this year! Our son has outgrown trick-or-treating, but our whole family loves to hand out candy and see all of the cute costumes.  My husband even gets dressed up sometimes.  He is still trying to decide on his costume for this.  I’m undecided as to whether I will dress up or not.

Whatever you choose to do, be safe and have fun!  Happy Halloween!
