I’m sure you probably remember the fairy tales of Snow White, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood.  As a young child these were a few of my very favorite stories to hear at bedtime.  Thanks to Netflix, now you can find out the rest of the story with the new original special Ever After High: Spring Unsprung, which premiers this month.  That’s right, the children of your favorite fairytale characters are studying at the enchanted high school of Ever After High and following in the footsteps of their famous fairytale parents while foraging their own destinies.

So how do you help a child to forage their own path?  With my son, I just encourage his interests.  He’s quite different from the little boy I thought he would be, but you know what?  I am so happy with that.  He is his own person and the person he is happens to be fantastic and I wouldn’t change him for the world.  He is naturally curious and seeks out more information about things on his own, which I think is just great.  He loves computers and is quite amazing with one.  He can also build just about anything from LEGOs just by looking at something.  A little engineer in the making?  Maybe.  Whatever he chooses to do in life, he will have our full support.  I also think talking to children about their hopes and dreams in life is so important.  They may change many times over the years, but it’s important to me that my son knows that with a little hard work, he can accomplish what he sets his mind to.

If you’re looking for more inspirational titles to watch about helping your kids make their own way on life, check out a few of these selections featured this month on Netflix:
