We have a graduate in the house!  We’ve finally wrapped up a whirlwind week full of so many good and happy moments!  It’s been busy, crazy, and so very tiring, but we wouldn’t trade one minute of it!

Graduation Day

Friday morning started off super busy! The Teen had graduation practice, and I was still scurrying around, trying to find the right shoes for the dress I wore. Our little small town was super crazy traffic-wise that day because the local university was also graduating that day.  We had to grab lunch on the go and make sure we were all ready by 5:00 PM to pick up my mama and aunt and have the Teen in place at the school by 5:30.

The ceremony was very nice. His graduating class totaled 64 students. At this point, I was all cried out from class night, but I am happy to say I held it together, just smiled, and enjoyed it all. I’m so happy that he has reached this milestone. Less than an hour later, we had a high school graduate!

The gym was packed, so it took a while to speak to people we knew, say some goodbyes to classmates, and start out for home. We had just rounded the corner by the school when my mama asked The Teen to see his diploma. The car began to slow down when we realized he must have left it in the gym somewhere! Hubby stopped the car in the opposite parking lot at the school, and the Teen left it on the roof of the car!! Haha!! Thankfully, we were still on campus and not traveling fast, so all was well! He retrieved his diploma from the roof of the car, and we laughed all the way home!  We were worn out and hungry, so hubby dropped us off at home so we could get out of our dress clothes. At The Teen’s request, he ran to grab us some Popeyes for supper.  Fancy!  Haha!

Saturday

I’m not going to lie; Saturday started out super rough for me.  I was down for the count, and Tylenol and Motrin weren’t doing too much to help the pain.  When I stay on my feet for a long time and go at full speed for a whole day, I pay for it dearly the next.  I spent all morning just sitting in the recliner.  Hubby’s sisters, our nephew, and two nieces arrived about 2:30 that afternoon.  I ran to the store to grab a few blue tablecloths, and my aunt and I headed to the restaurant early to decorate the tables for The Teen’s graduation dinner!  She found some super cute graduation caps and mints for the tables!

My mama hosted a graduation dinner for The Teen, and friends and family joined us to celebrate!  It was so good to get to visit with some of our out-of-town family, and we enjoyed a great meal!  My mama even had these super cute personalized graduation cookies made to give to each guest.

Sunday-Mother’s Day

Hubby had taken all last week off, so he had to return to work.  His sisters and kids also had to start making their way back home.  I waited until later in the day to visit my mama.  We were all exhausted!  But it was an incredible week with so many wonderful milestones and memories!  The next stop is college!  The Teen will attend orientation in June, so we are excited about that.

It’s hard to believe this is how he started his schooling journey in three-year-old kindergarten!

I sure do miss that sweet little face! *sigh*

Congratulations to you and The Teen! (We’ll soon have to stop calling him that…)
I love the pic of him as a cute kid and the one as a successful graduate! Glad you got that diploma. 🙂
Sounds like you had a very nice celebration with friends and family too.
Hugs to you, Mama – these are things us moms want to happen, but they sure can be hard!

Congrats to your sweet boy dear Momma! I know that emotional roller coaster well and so glad you made it through okay. He was such a l’il Pumpkin in that beginning school photo. The time flies way too fast. Hugging you from afar. xoxo
The party looked like it was great and the decorations were cute and those cookies were the best!
Blessings to your new graduate and wishing him the best for all that is to be ahead. 🌟

Sure sounds like a small community and small school – I had almost a 1,000 in my class in the 70’s.
I bet you are beat – it all sounds wonderful. Now rest up momma!! You need it.
