One of my most favorite foods my mom made when I was growing up was pancakes. These were usually a Saturday morning surprise, and I loved waking up to the smell of pancakes and syrup. It’s a fond childhood memory of my mom I will cherish forever.
Tyler Makes Pancakes, written by chef Tyler Florence, is a delightful children’s book about Tyler, a little boy wanting to surprise his family one morning by cooking them a pancake breakfast. But first, Tyler has to go to the store and buy all of the ingredients he needs to make the pancakes. At the store, Tyler learns about fresh ingredients, where they come from, and how they get to the table.
Tyler Makes Pancakes is great for teaching children about following directions, nutrition, and serving others. The illustrations by Craig Frazier are just terrific and there is even a recipe for the pancakes Tyler makes at the end of the book so you can make memories with your own child!
I received a copy of this book for review. No other compensation was received.

Bought TYLER MAKES PANCAKES for a four year old who has discovered “Why” and “Where does that come from?” It’s fun and easy to understand and causes a recitial of fact in the grocery store. Note that “bacon” is mentioned, but never explained. Which is probablly best left to parents.

Mom’s pancakes are the best. This sounds like a good read. Might have to make sure my kids know not to head off to the store without me.
