Welcome to Toni Taddeo’s Tuesday 4, which you can do any day of the week you want! No time limit.
It’s frigid across Canada and America; winter is early this year. There are only a few days left until Christmas…how are you spending this time?
1.What are you up to in preparation for the holidays?
I’ve done a big cleaning that went on for days! Haha! I still have presents to buy and wrap. I also want to make my great aunt’s cookie recipe, which we make every year. I also have party foods to plan/prepare.
2. What is your absolute favorite holiday movie?
I guess, as a family, it will always be The Polar Express because that’s the one my son just LOVED the first time he saw it when he was almost two. As a matter of fact, we watched it Sunday night! However, Holiday in Handcuffs is my personal favorite! It stars Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez. It was made for ABC Family years ago. So funny!
Would-be painter Gertrude ‘Trudie’ Chandler loses her waitress job and boyfriend Nick on Christmas Eve, so her only shot to avoid feeling like her family’s black sheep is to replace their ideal son-in-law with even-hunkier dream prince David Martin–by kidnapping him at gunpoint and dragging him to her family’s holiday in a secluded, luxurious log cabin. Crazy lies prevent David from convincing the Chandler family that he’s not Nick, and from escaping. When he finally places a rescue call to his spoiled fiancée, David decides to play the perfect catch to make her undoing worse. Before the police rescue him, he and the family realize that they adore each other, the others all prove imperfect, and David and Trudie reassess their relationship after getting to know each other
3. What are your hopes for this coming season?
I hope we enjoy spending time with our extended families and stay healthy. I hope we can be calm, not rush, sit back, and really take it all in. We have so many blessings to be thankful for.
4. Tell us your view on the great tea/coffee/hot chocolate debate and do you want it with fruitcake or cookies? Come on own up!!
This time of year, it will always be hot chocolate with a peppermint stick or spoon! I’ll take cookies with mine!
Feel free to join in and link up here!

Such a pleasure to read your blog and your responses. It’s not cold here, no snow, and I find that a bit boring. So I’m making it cozy inside.

Hey Aritha! I’m sorry I am responding so late to your comment. I have been taking a lot of downtime during the holidays. It sure has gotten cold here now! Haha! Supposed to see a wintry mix on Friday. Hope you have seen some snow by now!

Love the festive cheer and reading your answers my Friend! That holiday movie sounds so funny and fun! I’ll have to find that one. I love the Polar Express too. I just wanted to stop by and wish you a very blessed Christmas ahead to you and all of your loved ones. And all the best for 2025!! Now I think I need to go make a mug of cocoa with a candy cane spoon for my daughter and I. We’re going to do some holiday baking. Blessings always dear Mandy. ❤️💚❤️💚

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe you said Holiday In Handcuffs!! I didn’t think anyone else knew that one!! We LOVE that movie, it’s hysterical. She’s completely unhinged and they have such great chemistry. We watch it as a family every year and quote it often…”Remember me, Little Pootie??” Hahaha!!

You’ve introduced me to a new Christmas movie as I’d never heard of Holidays in Handcuffs. It sounds crazy and funny. I hope you get all the holiday wishes you’re hoping for. God bless and enjoy the Christmas season.

Thanks so much! I was sad I never caught this movie during the holidays, but I didn’t watch too much TV during that time. My husband was home and he loves to watch his shows while I happily read in my recliner. Haha! Thanks for stopping in!

Tis the season for holiday movies, both of those are good ones! We watched Home Alone last night.

I have never heard of that movie before. I just watched “Love Actually” for the first time after hearing from many people that it was their favorite Christmas movie. Someone described it like a Hallmark movie, so I was surprised when I found out it was rated R. However, it was an enjoyable movie.

I, too, hope we all have a healthy holiday season and take the time to really enjoy it, rather than feel rushed.

That movie sounds like a fun one. I agree – hot chocolate with peppermint!
