This ain’t no Stanley, but by golly, it works!
If you have a young person in your life, I’m sure you know that Stanley cups (not to be confused with the hockey tournament) are all the rage. Or maybe it was. My Teen never got into it; maybe it’s more of a girl thing. Anyway, I’ll admit I almost caved to this fad and bought one, but I couldn’t justify the cost. Yes, I’m sure they are really amazing, and they are terribly cute! I mean, look at these colors!

But I held off, and I’m glad I did because I have the perfect cup for free, and all it cost was my husband’s blood! Haha! That sounds really wrong, doesn’t it?
Hubby has been a blood donor since he was old enough to donate. He donated when the Bloodmobile was at our son’s school this year, and now the blood service calls hubby regularly to donate. He doesn’t mind and always comes home with a Visa gift card, a cap, etc. This last time, he came home with this red tumbler, so I thought: if I tried out this cup, would it help me start drinking more water? I love a cup with a straw, so I grabbed a bottle of water and emptied it into the cup. It didn’t take hardly any time for me to finish that off! So, I grabbed another bottle. GONE! Hmm…maybe there is something to this!
All I know is that it fits perfectly in my hand and is the perfect size. Now, I’m on the hunt to find something very similar so that I can have a few to use. I also have to add that people going crazy over Stanley’s is so funny to me. Back in my day (haha!), if you had a Stanley, you most likely would have this!
This is what my dad used when he went hunting to keep his coffee warm. I am now the proud owner of this, so technically, I do have a Stanley, I guess.
Do you have a favorite cup for your drinks? I’d love to hear what you are drinking from!

The Stanley Cup is a thing down here too. Wishing you a beautiful weekend, my friend.
Mandy says
Oh Linda, I can imagine it’s HUGE in Florida! Hope you are feeling better and have a great weekend too!

I wasn’t aware of the Stanley cup fad. For water, I use a glass. For my tea, I use a tea cup from my favorite “good” tea set. I rarely drink coffee, but, when I do, I have a mug for that.
Mandy says
Bless, I love that you use a tea cup! SO many pretty ones to choose from!

God bless your Hubby for doing that. I remember my Dad always donating all of my growing up. It’s such a good thing. I just know I’d cost them headache when I pass out. Lol
I have a girl and trust me I know the Stanley thing too well. Sigh 😁
Blessings on the rest of your week Sweetie xo

Girl, I know you know that Stanley thing well with a teenage girl! Haha! That’s awesome that your dad was a blood donor, too! I never realized how important it really is until my daddy got a blood cancer and required transfusions and platelets. We were so grateful for those who made those donations!
Mari says
Too funny! My Dad had one of those Stanley’s too.
My granddaughters both got a Stanley for Christmas and are all about it!
I just use a cheap one. 🙂
Mandy says
Haha! It’s like the standard issue dad thermos, right? H

I use a very old water bottle that my son used when he played soccer. It’s nothing fancy, but it works for me.
Mandy says
Whatever works is my motto! Haha!

No Stanley here either. I have a huge mug that came from Village Pantry 10’s of years ago – that I still use. It also takes a straw. It keeps things cold and it is covered, so I can use outdoors. For the car I have one similar to yours I got free and it works great. I just don’t get the statues thing at all.
Cheryl says
I meant status – darn work correct.
Mandy says
Yeah, I’m sure if I was a teenager, I would be all over the Stanley thing, haha! But, like you, this just happened to be free and it works! Those days of caring what people think are long gone for me.
