I’m pretty sure the folks at The Weather Channel won’t forget how to say Mississippi again.

I missed this, but watched the video. Love how he “renamed” it back to Mississippi!

Well, we totally missed that major blooper. It’s probably for the best because my daughter leaves for Ole Miss in two years and she (as do I) love all things about the state in which our people live! Stupid Weather Channel!

Oh wow…that takes a special kind of screw-up to completely miss the entire state of Mississippi. They won’t do that again!

Apparently The Free Range Stupid have gotten jobs on TV. We’re DOOMED!

OMG!!! I totally missed that. When did TWC make this faux pas?

By the way, if I recall my Elvis history correctly, HE was born in Mississippi. So yeah, something significant has happened in Ol’ Miss. Along with a few other things…civil rights, Brown vs. The Board of Education, there’s a HUGE effing river named after the state, the State Legislature authorizes the first system of junior colleges in 1922 (first in the nation)….should I go on? LOL

And…I totally thought of “free range stupid” on another post I wrote…but I hated to steal your line! Haha!

You can use it as long as you give me credit. 😀

I still can’t believe they call Mississippi “the land mass between New Orleans and Mobile”. WTF??? LMAO

I’m from Mississippi so of course, it offended me. Most Mississippians felt pretty much ignored when Katrina hit and we feel like it’s happening to us again. It seems the only time anyone knows our state by name is when a reporter does a negative story about MS. And most people who have anything negative to say about MS have never even visited the state for any length of time. If they did, they would be quite surprised to find that we wear shoes, can read, and are not all redneck racist bigots.

I agree with you, Nikki. Our state definitely gets a bad deal. There is so much to love about it, too. It’s just easier to poke fun, I guess.
