Good morning! Happy “Almost Turkey Day”! Today is going to be a busy one. We have lots to do to prepare for the big day tomorrow. I woke up around 7:30 this morning. I had a pretty good night’s sleep. It turned cold yesterday, so the heater had to be turned on by bedtime. It felt good to climb into my warm bed with Jake purring and snoring loudly beside me. Know what has also felt amazing? Not having to set alarms this week! Haha! I’m so glad the Teen has been off all week, mainly because he’s had such a tough time with this upper respiratory infection. I think he is turning a corner this morning, and I’m very thankful for that!
Turkey Thanksgiving Decor
I thought I’d share my Mr. Turkey sitting out in the dining room. I acquired this turkey last year, I believe, at a thrift store for a whole dollar! I thought he was so cute and couldn’t leave him behind. I don’t have a whole lot of strictly Thanksgiving decor, so I love this new addition! It’s blowing my mind a little that it will be time to decorate for Christmas in another couple of days. It feels like this year raced right on by.
Thanksgiving Prep
I’ve already started a little tidying up this morning. I’ve cleaned up the kitchen from breakfast and have the dishwasher going. I’ve put in a delivery order from Walmart and hope I actually see it today. I know the stores must be a madhouse by this point! I’ll be going to a restaurant with my mom shortly to pick up some sides she ordered to take to our gathering tomorrow. I need to make pies, and I’m still trying to decide about making the deviled eggs. We will see. I’ll be making a green bean casserole late tomorrow morning to take as well. I also need to start a little laundry. Speaking of laundry, sometimes it pays to do the laundry, haha!
I did a load of laundry yesterday, and this must have come out of one of Hubby’s pockets. It was actually five dollars. I didn’t notice one bill had fallen on the floor until I took the picture. I also sent the picture to him and told him thanks for the tip! Haha! He laughed, and I tucked the money into my wallet. I like having small bills, although I don’t carry a lot of cash on me. I rarely do, to be honest, but it never hurts to have some.
So, that’s my plan for today. Lots of Thanksgiving prep on tap for the day. I’m looking forward to being with our extended family tomorrow, sharing a great meal, and coming home to nap and be lazy the rest of the evening! What are you up to today?

I rarely have cash, so I’m always happy when I end up with some. I meant to turn some change into an Amazon code at the CoinStar machine, but accidentally ended up with a slip for cash this week. All good, as now I have a bit of cash on hand for the inevitable asks from the teens 🙂 Or, I can send them to the store with cash, to buy whatever I’ve forgotten, which is always convenient!

You reminded me that I have a ton of change I need to take to CoinStar, so thank YOU for that!
Linda says
I hope your order came in, smiles…wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving.
Mandy says
Linda, it did, I am happy to report! I was surprised! Haha!

I love deviled eggs, but mine are always messy. Good to eat but not great to take out. However, I don’t mind if we have to eat them all ourselves. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Mandy says
Thank you! I hope you had a great one as well! I ended up not making the eggs. Maybe for Christmas! Haha!
Mari says
I never find those kinds of tips when I do the laundry! 🙂
Glad the teen is doing better. Happy Thanksgiving!
Mandy says
It’s the first time I’ve seen a laundry tip in a while! Haha! Always a welcomed surprise!

Thank you so much, Cheryl!

Barb started on Tuesday with the tidying up, she will carry on today with more cleaning and some food prep. I offered to help, she gave me a couple tasks then told me to get out of the kitchen, so I am going fishing!
Mandy says
Haha! Hope your fishing trip was a great success!
