This post was sponsored by the MetLife TRICARE Dental Program as part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central.
For the past three months, I’ve had the pleasure of serving as a MetLife TRICARE Dental Program ambassador. There were changes made this year to the monthly premiums for members, so helping to get the word out about this has been an opportunity I have enjoyed blogging about and I hope it’s at least helped some of my readers know their benefits a little better. Military roots run deep in our family and we appreciate everything our service members do to protect our freedoms.
Although we haven’t been a military family for a long time, it was always so important to my husband and I to make sure we used our dental health benefits while he was in the Army. One of the funniest memories I have as a newlywed Army wife was taking care of my husband after he had his wisdom teeth pulled. We had received a blender as one of our wedding gifts and I fired it up, pureeing everything I could to help make eating much easier for him. It was hilarious at the time, and I’m sure I “hovered” more than “helped”, but he received such excellent care while it was done and I was so grateful we had our benefits at that time. I can also remember my first trip to the dentist on base and how nervous I was, because I had seen the same dentist ever since I was a young girl while growing up in my hometown. I had absolutely nothing to worry about, as I also received the best care.
Dental health is so important for every member of your family, and if your family participates in the Metlife TRICARE Dental Benefits program, you have access to one of the largest civilian dental networks with over 25,000 dental locations. Now that March is here, the program is focusing on some important facts about the Metlife TRICARE Dental Program that you may not know.
Did You Know?

Premiums are competitively priced, there are no annual deductibles or co-payments, and there are low or no cost-shares on many dental services – including preventive and diagnostic. The TDP has an Accidental Annual Maximum of $1,200 per beneficiary per plan year that can help your sponsor prepare for that unexpected tooth injury. That’s right, that tooth injury that happens at the park, during a sporting event or tripping over that random bump in the floor – the treatment and services may be covered AND this annual maximum is separate from the $1,300 plan annual maximum per beneficiary per plan year. The TDP will also coordinate with another supplemental dental insurance carrier, but it’s always a good idea to compare other plans with the TDP.
Make sure you know your dental benefits and take advantage of the great ones available to MetLife TRICARE Dental Program members.
