While You Were At Camp

What’s it like for a mom to have five whole days to herself with no kid around because the kid is at a day camp for the first time?  Allow me to share how my week has been. Monday-  I walked my son in to camp and promptly found his group View Post

No More Leftovers

Today is the first day of summer vacation for E.B. and I.  He’s been out of school for almost two weeks already, but Friday was my last day of work. Here we sit, side by side, still in our pajamas (with me sans makeup and hair pulled back) at View Post

Crosstie Arts & Jazz Festival- 2014

A couple of weekends ago we went to our town’s annual Crosstie Arts & Jazz Festival.  It’s exactly what it sounds like;  live jazz music, art of every medium for sale (clothing, jewelry, paintings,  pottery, wood, etc.) and many, many fabulous View Post

Waiting & Waiting & Waiting

E.B. has a cough and his voice became really hoarse on Christmas Day.  I started feeling yucky Friday after a trip to the store.  I’ve lived in Mississippi long enough to know that my self-diagnosis of The Delta Crud was happening, so View Post

Country Comes To Town

I love my new job so much, and I stay so super busy that I apologize for not updating with personal posts as much as I used to.  I plan to do better on that soon.  I find myself making tons of ideas for posts in my head throughout the day and then View Post

Cooped Up

Except for a short trip to the after hours clinic this past Saturday for a shot and a prescription and one short trip around the corner to see my parents Monday evening because I had not seen them in a week, I have been cooped up in our View Post

Thunderstruck At The Texas Rangers Baseball Game

We just got back from our little family getaway to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and one of the highlights of our trip was going to see the Texas Rangers play the Minnesota Twins at the Ballpark in Arlington.  This was the first Major League Baseball View Post

Memphis Zoo

The very first time we took E.B. to the zoo he was 2 years old.  We had a heck of a time maneuvering his stroller and keeping up with him when we did let him out of the stroller to walk a bit.  We've been anxiously awaiting the time to take View Post

Flies Through The Air With The Greatest of Ease

You know your kid is growing up when he proclaims all of the kiddie rides at the fair as “lame” and prefers to do this instead. View Post

I Love New York! (And Memphis, Too)

As we were driving home from a weekend outing Saturday evening, I realized it had been October since I had left the boundaries of our small town.  October!  Life seems to be moving at such a fast pace that this fact never dawned on me until I was out View Post

The New Year’s Eve MoonPie Drop

New Year's Eve was completely tame around our home.  Cracked Daddy had to work, so E.B. and I spent the whole day and evening being quite lazy because it's been the only day since Christmas that we've been home with absolutely no prior commitments.  View Post
