Stuff I Bought and Did Not Need

Today, I thought I’d share some stuff I bought but did not need with y’all.  I swear, this happens every single year during the holidays.   I’m in a store or shopping online, and I start running across great deals on things I’ve had my eye on throughout the year.  Even though I’m supposed to be shopping for other people, I can’t help myself and end up buying things that aren’t on THE LIST.  Do you do that, too?  Please tell me you do.  Haha!

Beauty Products

I am such a sucker for beauty products, but going into the new year, I am going to try not to purchase anything else unless ALL of the products I use for that (face, hair, body) are used up.  I told you last week I finally got to go inside a Sephora, and boy, was it overwhelming!  There was tons of makeup, skincare, and perfumes.  It was crowded, brightly lit, and a little overstimulating if I’m being honest.  I’d love to spend time there when fewer people are there.  But anyway, here’s what I just had to have from Sephora:

Color WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray—This is supposed to be amazing for keeping frizz out of your hair in humidity. I haven’t tried it yet, and I even bought the small trial-sized bottle just to make sure I love it before I invest in the larger one.

SOL DE JANEIRO Cheirosa 68 Hair and Body Mist– I have been so intrigued by these SOL DE JANEIRO scents that everyone loves, but I could never justify just blindly ordering a bottle without at least getting to test out the different scents, and there are quite a few!  But Sephora had tester bottles, and I finally got to see what the hype was about. I decided #68 was the one I liked the best!  It has a little hint of cotton candy, and I love sweet smells.  I’ve enjoyed using it, and it’s honestly something I can see myself repurchasing.  Big hint- if you have pre-teen/teen girls, they LOVE these fragrances!  They even have cute stocking stuffer sets in different scents!

stuff i bought and did not need

Tree Hut Peppermint Pearl Body Scrub—I love anything peppermint-scented, especially during the holidays! Please believe me when I tell you that Tree Hut Body Scrubs are amazing!  What sold me on them was that they don’t leave any oily residue in the tub or shower!  I have avoided body scrubs for so long, but now I have an entire Tree Hut collection in many scents!  (This was not purchased at Sephora.)

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask—I was so excited to try this, as so many online influencers use it. I was also excited to snag one of these little holiday mini-sets with several scents!

I don’t see them on the website anymore, but these lip masks are similar and so stinkin’ cute! Look at the little honeypots they come in!

Gifts

I did manage to find some great deals online on Black Friday for a few gifts.  I can’t share them all in case my immediate family is reading, but I did take advantage of Bath & Body Works awesome Buy 3, Get 3 Free Sale!  I got some little scent gift sets for the pre-teens in my family and a couple left over to gift to friends, all for a great price!

I’m still not finished. Raise your hand if you have a kid who won’t tell you what they really want until it’s either too late to get it or you are left scrambling at the last minute!  I also get sidetracked easily.  I’ll remember an ingredient for holiday baking randomly and need to add it to the grocery list, or I’ll remember that I haven’t even thought about Christmas cards.  My mind is really out of focus this year, but I’m trying to get it together as best I can.

Have you finished your holiday shopping yet?  Bonus points if you have everything wrapped and ready to go!

I am done shopping, but do not get the bonus points for wrapping everything yet. Barb is impossible to buy for as when I ask her what she wants, her typical response is “I don’t know”. Then next time she goes shopping, she buys herself something that would have made a great gift!

I’m not quite done with my shopping, either. Most of it is being done online, but, I will be making a few others. Just need to get myself organized enough to sit down and make them!

Yes! I do this! I see the deals, start thinking that I should give the coupons to my husband and tell him to go back…but then I just. pick it up for myself. I just can’t pass up a deal!

Sephora is overwhelming sometimes, but I always go during my birthday month to get a free item! I feel like so much of Christmas is all the little last minute things. Hope you have a good week!

Yes, I do this too. I bought a quilt the other day:) I have used the WOW stuff. I have super frizzy hair and it helps, so I think it is a good deal.

That’s good to know the WOW stuff works good! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that buys frivolous things! Haha! I’m sure the quilt you bought is beautiful!

I like your purchases! I use Color Wow thickening spray and really like it.
Yes, my grown kids can be very difficult in giving me ideas. I tell them I will be buying things so it may as well be something they like!

I didn’t even know WOW made a thickening spray! I just might have to get my mama some of that for her stocking. Hope we can all make our grown kids happy this holiday season! Haha!

I am not finished with my Christmas shopping yet. I have all the presents I have figured out so far. However, there are still some people that I don’t know what to get. It seems to be the same thing every year. I start with a bang but always end up scrambling at the end. It sounds like you had fun shopping. Most of my shopping has been done online.

I love doing the majority of my shopping online, too! I just don’t have the stamina for hours of in-store shopping. I will be scrambling as well. It seems I do my best under pressure! Haha!

Someone will use it – you or given as a gift. I don’t tend to buy stuff for myself, but do that for others.

Sephora is so overwhelming – but oh so fun sometimes! It’s one my daughter’s favorite places in the world. She uses that mist all the time! I actually got her a sephora advent calendar this year- she was in heaven. Lol
Blessings on getting all the Christmas errands done and just getting to enjoy the wonder of the season my Friend. ❤️💚
