How many times have you promised yourself that this was the summer you would prioritize your fitness and health? If you’re like me, you’ve probably said it for over a decade. Two, if I’m being honest. With our son recently graduating high school, I’ve entered a new season of parenting, and this season seems less hectic. In return, I’m finding myself with more time to devote to my own pursuits. One of those that cannot sit on the back burner any longer is fitness. I’ll be turning 50 this summer, and I’m reminded daily that my body is not as strong as it used to be. When adidas reached out to partner with me, I felt like this was a sign to finally get myself together, try out some new fitness gear, and blog about where this journey takes me.
The first thing I need to do is update my workout wardrobe. I don’t have dedicated clothing for exercising and being active, and this feels like the most logical place to start. I know that wearing a supportive sports bra, breathable fabrics, and quality shoes can make all the difference in active comfort. That said, I searched for these items to put together an outfit that would be enjoyable to wear while working out.
I’m starting with the very basics. These pieces will work perfectly and allow me to try things out to figure out what works best and expand upon them in the future. Here’s what I’ve chosen.
TLRD IMPACT TRAINING HIGH-SUPPORT BRA
PACER TRAINING 3-STRIPES WOVEN HIGH-RISE SHORTS (PLUS SIZE)
DESIGNED FOR TRAINING TEE (PLUS SIZE)
These pieces make me excited to start working out again. I’ll focus my workouts on walking and stretching/yoga.
Do you have a summer fitness routine? What activities do you enjoy doing?

That’s great that you are getting yourself ready to focus on fitness. That’s what I’m trying to do, too. Currently, however, all I’m doing is walking and not that much, either, due to aches and pains! I don’t have any special work out clothes, though.

I’m not getting to do much wither because of the extreme heat we have. It just doesn’t let up, even at night. Stretching is helping me out so much right now. It’s good that we are doing what we can!

Wow, you picked some really great things! I’ve been walking a lot lately and I’ve started stretching, but I need to incorporate some weight training, too. We’ll see…hahaha!

Oh, yes, I need to eventually work my way up to the weights. My arms are so weak! Good for you to be moving!

I do some walking and exercise, but I need to get a better wardrobe (e.g., bra) to take it to the next level. With so many to choose from, I have been putting it off. Maybe this is my sign that it’s time to get something.

Yes, I knew I needed some proper workout gear. It has been ages since I’ve had any. It really gives you a little boost of confidence!

I have been making my health such a priority this year. I’ve been working at it more diligently since later April. I’m down 20 lbs and continue to work to lose. I want to be as healthy as I can as I continue to age also (I’m 52). I had an adidas sports bra I loved forever – I really need to get some new ones! Lol
Blessings on this journey my Friend. And on the rest of your week. xo

Carrie, that’s awesome! I have to keep reminding myself that transformation doesn’t happen overnight. Good for you for making your health a priority. It took me having heart surgery to really get that if you have your health, you are truly rich! It’s so important.
