So, I guess today’s post is basically just a photo dump and a catch-up of sorts.  Ha!  I’ve been out of the blogging loop for the past couple of weeks, but we did have some things going on that I wanted to document on the blog, so here we go…

Getting Presentable

I mentioned in my last post that we celebrated The Teen’s birthday last week.  I put on “normal clothes” and did my makeup.  Haha!

We ate at Lost Pizza, so I had my usual personal-sized pepperoni pizza, but this time I added on a side of their tamales.

They are very good!  I couldn’t eat it all, so we enjoyed them on Super Bowl Sunday, the next day.  Hubby watched the game, and I just read blog posts on my iPad in my recliner.  We were together doing our own thing!  Ha!  We decided to make a couple of other snacky-type foods for the game, so I made cocktail weiners, and hubby made these ham and cheese sliders.  They were great!

And the next day, we had to get up and at it early because we had our three-month checkup at the endocrinologist.  Hubby got a great report, and all his numbers were headed in the right direction.  My cholesterol numbers had improved, but my A1c was sitting at 8.7, which is not great.  My doctor has added another prescription she wants me to try to see if it will help.  Not that the food above helps anything, right?  So, back to the drawing board for me.  I guess one good thing was I had not gained any weight since the last visit.  Haha!

Reading and Napping

Besides that, I’ve still been reading quite a bit, and this little fella is always a good snuggle buddy.

He’s not affectionate, so I guess “napping buddy” might be a better way to describe him.  He crawls beside me and sleeps but doesn’t want to be touched very much.  I’ll take what I can get.

Signs of Spring

We are also seeing signs of spring!  My Bradford Pear tree is starting to bloom a little, and my neighbor has daffodils that I can see out of my kitchen window.  The grass is starting to turn green again, and the weather, besides a cold snap this weekend, has been super gorgeous!  I think Spring is my favorite time of year.  We saw a little icing from the winter event that happened a couple of weeks ago across the Mid-South, but it wasn’t terrible here.  I’m ready for winter to move on out!

So, that’s it for my photo dump post!  The Teen is having a distance learning day, so he will be home with me.  I have an exciting day of sheet-washing ahead of me!

Happy birthday to your teen! And those football snacks look so good and make me hungry. Lol I’m envious of your Spring signs. Still buried under feet of snow in the northwoods. But didn’t stop me from getting out my Spring decorations this weekend! 🌸 😉

Carrie, your snow amazes me! We don’t ever see that much here in the South. I’m not sure my body could handle it! Haha! But I guess we are just used to what we are used to! I can’t wait to see your Spring decor! I know it will be amazing!

I love the tree starting to bloom. No signs of that here yet, but I can’t wait!

Oh, I can’t wait for spring. It’s not usually this warm around here in the winter, we’re usually buried in snow, bu this week it was almost 70 degrees. I hope it sticks! I hope your new meds work!

I am always ready for spring. It is like nature wakes up again. I find myself looking for each new bud. The food does look delicious. I do hope your numbers get straightened out. I hate having to try any new meds, but life requires it at times. You looked lovely in real clothes:) Take care.
