When The Art of Storage contacted me about trying out the Vivaldi Over-the-Door Hook I gladly obliged because we are in the middle of a bathroom re-do and was actually in the market for a hook to fit over the bathroom door to hold our towels and robes.
What makes the Vivaldi hook different is that it’s specially designed to prevent “hook bulge”, those bulging imprints left in clothing that hangs on a hook. You can see from the design that it’s curved to protect your clothing.
Overall, I liked the Vivaldi hook because it actually does prevent hook bulge. It’s also very modern-looking, which is a look we are definitely trying to achieve with our bathroom mini-makeover.

Our cats constantly cuddle. Whether it’s on the couch, the recliner, or the foot of our bed, these two are inseparable.

A couple of times a year, Miller Spectacular Shows rides into our little Delta town and sets up for a week of entertaining the masses. Last Wednesday my parents and I took E.B. for an hour of fun and rides at the fair. This marks the first year E.B. was old enough to ride anything, and to say that he had a blast would be a serious understatement because he actually had way more fun that I can possibly try to convey here.
And there were negotiations…like, “Mama, can I ride DIS one??!!!??!”.
And picking up random chicks to ride the rides with you….
And “fair food”, because what fair experience is complete without candy apples and funnel cakes?
But parting is such sweet sorrow, and having to be carried by Paw-Paw to the car, kicking and screaming, “I DON’T WANNA GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” is just par for the course.

Dear People Who Read My Mom’s Blog,
In the past few days things have suddenly changed around our house. My mom got this crazy idea that I needed more sleep, a better attitude, and a little more consistancy in my life.
On that note, I’ve been in bed before 9 PM most every night, have watched less Dora and Diego, and have been much more pleasant all around. Not to be outdone, I’m still balking every chance I’m getting, but I’m balking a little less and I think her ulterior motive is to get me in a balk-free state (or as much as possible) so I will think all of these “healthy changes” are good for me.
Personally? I think my mom is enjoying the fact that she can be in bed at a decent time and SHE’S getting more rest and acting a little less crabby.

How many decisions do you think you make in an average day? Probably quite a few, right? While some of those choices may not be life altering, many of the tough calls to make in life require so much thought that if you’re like me you may ponder a choice for so long and still draw a blank when it comes time to decide. I’m constantly afraid to make the wrong choice and gaining a fresh perspective is critical for me to be able to take action.
I just finished reading 10-10-10 by Suzy Welch. The basic premise of the book is, “What will the consequences of my options be in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years?” I had to admit that when I thought of certain decisions I had to make in the context of 10-10-10, so many things I thought were life-altering really weren’t and the more pressing issues didn’t seem so overwhelming.
I enjoyed this book because the pshychology of how people arrive at the choices they make fascinates me, but even moreso because 10-10-10 is not some secret formula that only works for a few people. Literally anyone from any walk of life can take this formula to heart and use it as a tool to help navigate them through life’s choices.
