I have had my nose in the books lately and don’t want to jinx myself, but I am blowing away my reading goals at goodreads so far!
I had decided for this year’s reading challenge, I would keep my goal attainable and practical, so I committed to reading 15 books. Well, I’ve done a little more reading than I anticipated, and I am now shooting for a goal of 30! I’m up to 19 books read, a huge difference from 8 last year!
Here is what I’ve read since my last update:
American Housewife: A NovelThe Mendocino Book Club (Mendocino Beach 1)All Good ThingsMr Portobello’s Morning Paper: A heart-warming short story about new friends and missed connectionsThe Autumn of Ruth Winters: A NovelVery Very LuckyHow to Read a Book: A NovelThe Vibrant Years: A NovelThe Golden Gals’ French Adventure: A laugh-out-loud feel-good read from MILLION COPY BESTSELLER Judy LeighWest with Giraffes: A NovelUnlikely StoryBehind Every Good Man: A NovelAn Ambitious Woman : By Edgar Fawcett – IllustratedThe Inn at Dolphin Bay (Dolphin Bay Novel)
If you’re interested in any of these books, you can click on the cover to read a description. However, if I had described all of them, this blog post would be way too long. I liked them all for different reasons. I’m not a book snob. I believe anything YOU are interested in reading is worth reading. Sometimes, I enjoy a long novel; sometimes, a light romance is in order.
And Linda from Just Simply Linda…if you are reading this, How to Read a Book made me think of you! One of the main characters volunteers in a place like where you work.
That’s a whole lotta’ reading! But reading is comforting to me, and I guess I’ve just needed to zone out a lot more lately. If I had to pick my top three, I’d say Mr. Portabello’s Morning Papers, How to Read a Book, and Behind Every Good Man.
Have you read any good books lately? I’d love to hear about them!
Well done! I’m an avid reader & typically get through several books per week. I once took a speed reading class (free to me, as I was volunteering in a different class) & It’s a blessing & a curse. A blessing to be able to speed read in many situations, and a curse because finding that many books to read can be a challenge. I pay for Kindle Unlimited, which is a bit of a splurge, but I first read basically all of the books at the (small) branch of my local library in my preferred genre. Getting new books is easy, and portable for when I travel on my Kindle. It’s one of my most used possessions!
How lovely that you have exceeded your book reading goal and have doubled it! I haven’t read many books, so far this year, but, I am currently reading two books – one about religion and one about housekeepers.
Wow! You are on a reading kick! Way to go!
I’m always looking for reading recommendations. I will check these out.
That is a lot of books. Good for you.
Thanks for sharing dear Mandy!
I copied some down to add to my list. Good for you upping your reading game!! I’m ahead for my usual too, but not even close to what you’ll achieve. That’s so awesome! I really enjoyed the last one I just read for light hearted fun and romance (plus crafting) by Debbie Macomber called A Good Yarn. Lots of fun and would recommend to gobble up quickly.
Blessings on the rest. of your week. xoxox
That’s a lot of books! You are a prolific reader, but I guess I should expect it from a librarian!! Heehee!!
Good job on the reading! I’ll have to check a few of those out. Thanks!
