A couple of times a year, Miller Spectacular Shows rides into our little Delta town and sets up for a week of entertaining the masses. Last Wednesday my parents and I took E.B. for an hour of fun and rides at the fair. This marks the first year E.B. was old enough to ride anything, and to say that he had a blast would be a serious understatement because he actually had way more fun that I can possibly try to convey here.
And there were negotiations…like, “Mama, can I ride DIS one??!!!??!”.
And picking up random chicks to ride the rides with you….
And “fair food”, because what fair experience is complete without candy apples and funnel cakes?
But parting is such sweet sorrow, and having to be carried by Paw-Paw to the car, kicking and screaming, “I DON’T WANNA GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” is just par for the course.

That looks like so much fun! My son loves the fair, and asks all the time to go there. He hasn’t quite got it that it’s a once a year thing yet. Or that it would be really cold on a Ferris Wheel in January.

You’re such a good mommy…..when the fair comes to Greenville or Cleveland, I stay home……my girls have never even been to a fair…..maybe next year, because i sure do love a fair corndog!

What a cutie. I’m sure he could get any random chick to ride with him! Now it’s amusement rides in a few years it’ll be his first car! Time flies, love ’em lots while they’ll let you! 😉

Bless his bones! I feel the same way when I have to leave the State Fair each year. Especially leaving the chicken on a stick, the candy apples…

The last photo illustrates just what a wonderful time he was having at the fair!

Wow… reminds me visiting Hershey Park with our kiddos…We spent hours trying to find the walking Hershey Bar and give him a hug! Just like it says in “The Power of Small” book – it’s the little things that make the difference!

Looks like a lot of fun. Your photos are really good, and your little boy is just adorable!

Coast Rat…totally guilty as charged. It was fun!!
TAF- Hasn’t he grown? It makes me almost want to cry sometimes! And yes, you are not alone!
Stacey- You are exactly right! And that was the best therapy session ever to him! It amazed my dad how he could ride things that spinned around so much and come out walking a straight line. He craves spinning.

he is just a kid that knows what his sensory system needs!!

Oh my goodness, I can not believe how big EB has gotten. Certainly looks like he had a fabulous time. Glad that my kids are not the only ones that do not like leaving.

Uh-huh… Now the cat is out of the bag, and you know what you have to look forward to every year to come…
Kids really do have a good time, though at fairs, don’t they? And it sounds like you really enjoyed yourself, introducing EB to the amusement rides, too…
