I’m finding my May momentum today! We’ve had a super busy week, and I am so glad it’s finally starting to wind down and the weekend is upon us! I’ve been wanting to blog all week, but I just haven’t had the time. Hopefully, it will be a little calmer going forward.
Back to Church
The week started with going to church on Sunday. I’ll be honest. I haven’t been the best about attending church in many years. I have no real excuse except I’ve been lazy and just let the devil talk me out of it each week. But for the past two Sundays, I have been in church and have enjoyed it so much. I have attended the same church for all of my 50 years of life. Our congregation is mostly older now. It made me sad to see attendance so low, but I also realize that I have been a contributor to that factor myself. But, it makes me so happy to go now and I’m glad to be back.
And since I’ve committed to going back to church, I needed some more dresses. Our church is not super formal, but I just love wearing a casual dress to church. I immediately ordered a few of these tiered dresses in several colors and plan to add some fun accessories to make them stand out.

I’m not a big pattern girly when it comes to clothing. I love basics that I can add to.
New Phones
Hubby and I got new phones yesterday. It was really out of necessity. My iPhone 11 was five years old, and his Samsung Galaxy was the same age. We got them right after the pandemic began. His camera wasn’t working right anymore from when he dropped it, and my old iPhone only had 1 GB of storage left and would no longer update. I ended up getting the iPhone 16 Plus and this cute little case to go around it.
I’m really happy with it. Everything transferred over perfectly, and hopefully this will hold me for another five years.
Haircut
I got a hair trim on Tuesday morning. I had a couple of inches cut off, and my layers shaped up. It’s always good to visit with my stylist, whom I just realized I have been seeing for twenty years now! I started going to her right after Young Man was born. We had a good catch-up, and I’ll probably make another appointment in October. I typically only get two to three haircuts a year.
Mounjaro Update
I took my second Mounjoro shot Monday morning, and besides yesterday, I have been eating very well, and things keep going good with that. Yesterday was hectic, and hubby and I ate lunch out together. Then, the rest of the evening was a blur, so we grabbed fast food. I did well at the restaurant, which had veggie options, but we picked up Wendy’s last night. I had a small cheeseburger and fries. Oops! The meal below has been my typical breakfast and lunch for days now, so having something different was a treat!

We were rushing around so much to get him ready for the trip to his uncle’s funeral. He left out bright and early this morning for Tampa, and we had to gas up the car, go and get new phones, go to the bank, iron clothes, etc. I was absolutely exhausted last night and fell asleep immediately! Haha!
Good Books Incoming!
I also just saw three books coming out that I am really excited about! Debbie Gibson’s book Eternally Electric will be out in October, and I can’t wait! She was really popular when I was in junior high/high school, and I loved her music! She also had a perfume called Electric Youth that I was so crazy about! I wish you could still buy it.
Eternally Electric: The Message in My MusicUptown Girl: A MemoirTruly
Christy Brinkley’s memoir, Uptown Girl, has been released, and I want to read that as well! And finally, Lionel Richie’s memoir Truly will be released in September. So many good books added to my list!
I started my morning off by tidying up a little. I’m still so tired from yesterday that I may do very little else! Haha! I hope you’re having a great Thursday!

Hi Mandy!
I love that you’re getting back to church. Matt & I don’t get there every week but mostly we do. We just have crazy lives that takes us away some weekends. It’s so centering and healing for me – as well as my own devotional time daily. 🙂
So happy to hear that the shots are going well! I hope you continue to learn and have positive healthy experiences on your journey. I’m still working on mine. We were gone again this past weekend and I overindulged. It’s such a balancing act but one I plan to really work at the rest of my life. I tell myself I’m not dieting – this is my lifestyle now.
Blessings on the rest of your week Sweetie. xoxo
May Momentum is a real thing, love the title! I too am eager to get out and embrace spring and warmer weather while I have the motivation to do it!
Sounds like you’ve been super busy! Glad to read that you continue to do well with the new medication. I like the dress you have chosen. I haven’t shopped for clothes in a long time; my cousins have been giving me the clothing they’ve decluttered and I am happy to get free clothes!
All three books look good. I love reading about people’s lives. Not sure why, but I do.
I recently got the same phone. I had a 10 so it was time. After I got all my apps like I like them arranged I am happy with the new phone.
Love the dress. I find simple works and you can leave it simple or snazzy it up.
I have been going to the same hairdresser for over 40 years. I tell her we have covered a lot of ground over the years. We are actually buds now… same age…signing up for Medicare. She is not allowed to retire though. I was teaching in Columbus, GA my first year and got an awful haircut in April of that year. Jeff and I were engaged so he said come home over the weekend and you can go here to fix. We were getting married in September. I was not happy about the hair situaton. I met my girl and she did wonders. The deal was sealed. Been going to her since April of 1984. Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to do if she quits. She has slowed down and works less.
Sounds like life has kept you busy. Glad you are enjoying being back at church.
Get some rest this weekend and try to slow down and just enjoy the days a little.
Glad you are going back to curch. It is hard to create new habits. I also need to get a new phone. Mine is a 12 and I am trying to figure out the best place to get a new one. Those memoirs will be good. Enjoy your weekend!
You’ve been busy. It sounds like you’re not having difficult side effects from Mounjaro. I hope that continues and works well for you. I think many churches are struggling with attendance after the pandemic. Many people have switched to online church and haven’t returned to the buildings.
I’m happy for you to be getting back to church. I find it’s a big blessing to me!
The dresses are so cute and what a great deal!
It’s great you are doing well with the mounjaro.
