Happy Monday! I just thought I’d share some of my March home happenings with you. I hope your weekend was restful! Ours was pretty quiet. I definitely caught up on a bit of reading and napping. I spent last week doing a little housework each day, but I was paying for it by Thursday. I might have stayed in my lounge clothes all that day, even for carpool drop-off and pick-up. I told The Teen I was so sorry that I was having a tough day, and he was so sweet and reassured me that nobody could see what I was wearing because we were in the car. Haha! I have resolved not to push myself too much this week.
Puzzling
It took me a whole week, but I finished this Ravensburger Times Square puzzle!
I’ve never been to New York City but have always wanted to. However, I’m not sure I could keep up with all the walking, hustle, and bustle. But I can vicariously live out my NYC dreams through a puzzle, right? This is the puzzle I purchased second-hand on eBay, and it was such a good buy! I really enjoyed doing this particular puzzle, and I have it glued and ready to be framed. I have no idea where I’d like to hang this. Probably my office. I was amazed at the detail in each little area of this puzzle.
March
March roared in like a lion for sure this past week! I thought we’d nearly blow away on Friday. The winds were at 40 MPH, and although there was no severe weather, we did have minor damage to part of the roof siding on our house. We hope it will be an easy fix, but we will see. I switched out my February Beanie Babies (which I never posted a picture of. Boo!) for the March Beanie Babies, and now they sit on our mantle.
Weather
It’s been so beautiful and spring-like here, except for a few days last week when we got lots of rain. I could sit on the patio and watch the cats and the birds. The birds are so funny to me. They love to swoop down and steal cat food! I caught one doing just that!
Speaking of animals, how cute is this? I discovered a little ladybug crawling on the tiny Lego house my son built a few years ago. It’s sitting on the little yellow covering over the door. The Lego house sits on our kitchen windowsill. The little house looks like it was specially made for the ladybug!
And naturally, because the weather has been so fantastic, Jake has wanted to be outdoors more, especially at night. He stays out all night and most of the morning and then comes in and passes out upstairs in my office, which we affectionately call “his bedroom” now. I passed by on my way to put away clothes upstairs and caught him just like this!
He’s so cute, but he is so ornery! And clearly, he leads a tough life.
Spring Break Home Stretch
It’s the Teen’s last week of school before Spring Break. I am so looking forward to canceling those morning alarms for a week! Although I have a four-legged alarm clock that will keep me on schedule, I’m sure. I have a cardiologist appointment on Wednesday, and I’m praying for a good report. My last visit was in August, so it’s time for a check-up. I never knew getting older would basically just be going from doctor appointment to doctor appointment. Haha! But, I am thankful for the good health care I receive.

Cute lady bug on the little house!
I hope your doctor’s appointment went well and the cardiologist said everything was fine. Take care of yourself.

Hi Mandy. I love that NYC puzzle. I have been to NYC a couple of times when our oldest daughter was going to college on Long Island. Sorry I am having a hard time keeping up with your posts. For some reason, my blog is not letting me follow you, but I always enjoy coming over here for a visit. I hope your cardiologist appointment went well. Have a blessed Sunday. See you again soon!

I love that puzzle! NYC is one of my favorite places and I would recommend going, but it is a lot going on all the time. The city that never sleeIps is still true.
Enjoy the upcoming spring break!

I live in NY and have worked in the city and visit sometimes…and it is a busy, busy place, buzzing all the time. I prefer visiting it in your puzzle instead! Haha!! Love the ladybug. SO sweet.

Sigh on the dr. appointments…I have one this morning and another at the end of March. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.

Hello! Yes. I know exactly what you mean about doctor appointments. I used to think that about my parents, and now it is me! I am glad your weekend was cozy and relaxing. Have a cozy evening, my friend!

I love the puzzle! My niece lives in NYC and works in a Starbucks right in Times Square. She would love for us to visit and take us around, but I think the crowds and all that walking would do me in.
The ladybug on the Lego house is perfect!
I can tell I would love Jake. 🙂

I liked reading your blog and I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up with your writing regularly. I can relate to the way you describe things and I think we have a lot of similar interests. The holiday is over and my son went back to school this morning.
I can smell spring in the air here.
Your blog is great, and the photos are nice too.
That ladybug is funny, I think it woke up from hibernation.
Super, the puzzle. I love it.
