Since becoming a parent, I realize now more than ever that staying healthy to insure that I am around to see all of my son’s milestones is such an important thing. Do I always make the healthiest decisions? No, but it’s always on my mind and something I strive for each day, even if my progress seems slow. One thing my son and I have been doing almost everyday after school for the past couple of months is taking short walks down the street and playing a little basketball. It really does get my heart pumping and I know the extra exercise is a great thing for both of us.

We are staying active! Even if it’s cold and snowing we won’t just sit around and be sedentary! Exercise is the best preventative!
I try to keep a healthy lifestyle by taking the dog to the park and for frequent walks and taking vitamins and keeping a balance diet!
I’m due around Christmas with our 4th child and I’m just trying to stay as active as I can without straining my back. We cook in all our meals and that’s been great for our diet and saving money.

I bought an exercise bike to keep in our rec room since weather will prohibit walking my dog far in the evenings (he has arthritis). I’ll still be able to walk him, just not as far. I’m also planning to start Weight Watchers this November to try to drop a few pounds over the winter instead of gaining.
I’ll be eating well-portioned meals and running in the cool temperatures of fall 🙂

This fall we’ve been keeping healthy by getting our flu shots and I wipe down all home surfaces with Clorox wipes. I also keep a box of Kleenex in a few of the rooms so everyone can use them to blow their nose. Thanks.

Now that the weather is cooler, I can get out and walk more, and take longer walks. I’ve been enjoying fresh apples from local orchards as a healthy snack, and they also make me feel full if I eat one close to dinner time, so I don’t eat as much as I used to.
