Good Thursday morning! I’ve been up since 5:00 AM, I’ve started my day, and I’m resting between chores, so I decided this would be a good time to get out a quick post. I really am trying to learn how to get up a post quicker. I usually sit here and ruminate over the perfect title, choosing pictures to share, etc. This causes me to spend so much time on the mundane tasks of blogging, and sometimes I run out of free time and don’t get to post. I figure something is better than nothing, right? I thought I would share some of life’s simple pleasures here lately.
Valentine’s Beanie Babies
Of course, I have to share my Valentine’s Beanie Babies. I try to put out my old Beanie Babies bears to decorate my mantle for the seasons or holidays. I almost forgot about Valentine’s Day! I went up into my extra bedroom/office last night and dug them out of the huge storage bin I keep them all in. I gave up almost all of the regular Beanie Babies animals years ago, but I just can’t let go of my bears. They are too cute!
Gorgeous Sunrise
We have been treated to some beautiful sunrises here this week! This is what I saw this morning as I stepped out back to feed the stray kitties. I wish my phone camera did a better job of capturing the beautiful colors. I can’t seem to get that right. It always looks lighter in the photo from what I’m actually seeing. In any case, it was gorgeous! That’s one thing I miss about my early morning drives to work. I used to see some amazing sunrises.
I Was Influenced
Tree Hut Cotton Candy Shea Sugar Exfoliating & Hydrating Body Scrub, 18 oz
I also had another treat this morning! Last week, I ordered this Tree Hut body scrub from Amazon. I was influenced to buy this from someone on Instagram who has a bazillion jars of these in her shower! Haha! Anyway, I hesitated to try it because most of these body scrubs feel icky and oily and leave a slippery mess in the shower. However, when I removed the lid to investigate my product, OH MY GOSH! It smelled HEAVENLY!! Cotton Candy is one of my all-time favorite scents! It felt amazing. My skin felt so soft (not greasy) when I got out of the shower, but what sold me on it was there was no greasy mess left in my tub afterward! I can’t believe I found a body scrub I can love! They come in so many amazing scents. I can’t wait to try more!
Time for a Change
Now, I am on the hunt for a lighter foundation. I love a full-coverage foundation, but the one I use currently (which is amazing regarding coverage and stay-power) makes me look older. It’s just sitting on top of my face now, looking cakey and powdery and settling into all the fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve been doing some investigating, and apparently, now that I’m of a certain age, I don’t need to wear matte foundation anymore. So, if you have any suggestions on what to try, please let me know! I’m considering ordering some sample cards from eBay to try them out before buying. Good foundations are so expensive now. I’d love to be able to find a drugstore one I could use.
So, that’s all I have this morning! The rest of the day will be spent doing chores and picking up the Teen from school. Is it sad that I am ready for a nap already? Haha! Hope you have a great Thursday!

Love those Beanie Babies bears!
Very pretty sunrise, too.
I rarely wear make up these days and don’t wear any foundation, at all, so can’t help you with that one. 🙂

I wear a combo moisturizer, concealer, sunblock & love it. Most days, I opt for just sunblock & don’t bother with the concealer version. It’s called Australian Gold Tinted Sunscreen

Your little bears are so cute. Really nice.
Beautiful sky…. Oh, how I hope for beautiful clear days, but I think we still need to wait here for a while.
I sometimes wear foundation, but not often. However, I do touch up a red spot on my nose.

Love that you still have your Beanie Babies. And that sunset!

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes (most of the time), what seems like a simple post takes me a long time to write. I’m trying to do better with that, also.
I never got into the Beanie Baby phase, but I have to agree: the bears are really cute.

What a pretty sunrise! We’ve been stuck under cloudy skies for far too long. I really need the sunshine.

The sunrise is beautiful. I always feel like the camera really can’t quite capture what I see in real life, but it is so pretty. Believe it or not at 63, I don’t wear foundation or base anymore. I know there are spots and blemishes, but about 8 years ago, I just quit. I put on my eye makeup for church and any activity where I want to look nice and my blush. With my white hair I wear lipstick so I don’t fade away. I haven’t missed it a bit. I know I might look a little more polished, but over time I just didn’t like the look with it either, so I opted to just go free.

Such a pretty sunrise. It seems my camera never captures what I actually see either. Frustrating.
Enjoy your day!
