Ahhhh! It’s the last week of school here and I am so happy to see the finish line. 4 more days and summer begins! The teen finished up last week and he had a great sophomore year. Even though he had a turn with the “the illness that shall not be spoken of”, he had a good year and made us proud with his grades.
The past few weeks have been packed and busy. At work, we were absolutely spoiled rotten for Teacher Appreciation Week. My students brought me such lovely things, like these beautiful flowers, and so many sweet notes of appreciation.
We were treated to lunches and breakfasts as well by the admin and several community members. Even though we were in the thick of state testing that week, it was still such a great time.
And then Mother’s Day was absolutely fantastic as well. I wanted tomato plants and hubby and the teen made it happen. They got me 4 tomato plants and I’ve been babying them ever since. My last attempts at gardening from seeds didn’t go the greatest, so I figured maybe we would do better with the already started plants. We shall see!
Hubby and I also spent a Saturday about town. I hardly ever, ever, ever go out on the weekends, so I decided I needed a change of scenery and pace. I wanted to go to our local Tractor Supply and look at baby chicks, so that’s where we started out. Aren’t they so stinkin’ cute?
They are quite busy little things! I may have aspirations for growing tomatoes, but I do not have a desire to raise chickens. I just think they’re cute.
After checking out the chicks we then stopped in at our local outdoor store for something hubby needed. After that, we headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant where I enjoyed this fajita potato.
These potatoes are absolutely delicious and I can’t wait for school to be out so I can do this more often. It felt so good to get out and do something different for a change.
Other than that, it’s the usual…keep the laundry going, keep the house clean-ish, and work work work! Summer will usher in a welcomed slower pace that my body desperately needs at the moment. It’s been a busy and challenging school year for me, but we are in the home stretch!
[…] purchase I didn’t have to make was this tomato. This was the tomato growing on the tomato plant I got for Mother’s Day. I was excited to be able to pick this one finally and we can’t wait to see how it […]
