What I like about chex mix is it’s versatility. I can serve it plain, out of the bag, or create a sweet mix by adding chocolate.
I have loved it since I first made this recipe many, many, many years ago.

When my daughter was small, she asked me if we could buy jail cereal. I had no idea what that was, so I took her to a store and asked her to show me which one it was. It wasn’t there. Months went by and I forgot about it, but then I made my semi-annual Chex mix for Thanksgiving and she got all excited that I found the “jail cereal”. I guess the Chex cereal reminded her of jails 🙂 That’s why I love Chex mix – it reminds me of her.

WE make a reindeer crunch with Chex Mix. It’s kind of hokey – just regular chex mix with melted butter and powdered sugar, macadamia nuts and some crushed peppermint sticks.
Yummy though.
I make 1 recipe of Chex mix but double the amount of mixed nuts, add double pnuts, and a jar of cashews. This mixture is doused with triple the amount of butter/seasonings. Makes enough for an army but there’s never leftovers.

We butter a casserole dish, add chex, mini marshmallows, and mini chocolate chips and put in the oven until melted. It makes for a gooey but good treat.

I like the Hot and Spicy Chex® Party Mix recipe. I like that chex mix is a healthy snack. Because chex mix is so flavorful, I notice that I don’t have to eat as much to feel satisfied, as compared to chips.
I love chex mix beacause its so easy to make and everyone loves it too. Its better than a bag of chips just laying there, its an excuse to use a fancy bowl and fill it with tasty yumyums.

I love that there are so many different kinds. If I’m in the mood for sweet then I can buy turtle, if I want salty I can go with original.

I like the traditional mix but sometimes I add almonds
I like that you can make your own Chex Mix and make it healthier than lots of the snacks sold today. I like to add raisins for my sweet – almost going trail mix with it.
We love to make our own Chex Mix – the original is still the best. However, no one ever eats the pretzels, so I use oyster crackers instead.
I love to make and eat the traditional Chex Party Mix!

I like Chex party mix because it brings back memories and tastes good, too!
I make the traditional style chex mix (but a little spicier since my family likes spicy foods) and then I make a sweet mix with chex cereal, pretzels, peanuts, raisins and sometimes M&M’s and then drizzle white chocolate all over it and spread it on a cookie sheet. When it “dries” you break it up. Yummy. I have to make tons of this at Christmas time!

Chex mix is the perfect school snack for my students. When they are low on energy, I pass out the Chex mix snacks that I have already added peanut butter and raisins to form little brain booster clusters. This is the way my students enjoy Chex mix….
