My son and I were in the grocery store the other day when we spotted the biggest marshmallows I had ever seen in my life. They were called Giant Roasters and they indeed were giant! I love marshmallows, and I have seen several sprinkled versions floating around Pinterest, so with my son insisting that we really, really needed these huge marshmallows, I decided to give them a try at home.
Making these marshmallows was super easy. First, you will want to purchase the following items:
Marshmallows (Big or giant size)
Foam Plates
Sprinkles
Karo Light Corn Syrup
Paper straws or lollipop sticks (Use the paper straws for the giant roasters and use the lollipop sticks for the large marshmallows)
Setup is really easy. Just pour some corn syrup in a bowl and set that aside. Then, grab a few foam plates and pour sprinkles on each one. You will want to use a good amount.
It’s really as simple as sticking the paper straw or lollipop stick into the marshmallow, then dipping it in some light corn syrup. Make sure you coat the marshmallow good with the syrup, then pull it out and hold it upside down and let the excess syrup run off.
Once that’s done, roll the marshmallow around in the sprinkle of your choice and make sure to coat it as much as possible. Then, if you are using the paper straws like I did, just stand them up in a heavy glass cup to set. Place a paper towel underneath them and set the cup in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. It can get a little messy, and I wish I could have included pictures of the dipping process, but it’s kind of hard to do by yourself.
Once they’ve set up, eat and enjoy!
