It’s BTS Week here for us!  In some ways, it seems like we had a long summer, and in others, I can’t believe it’s time for the Teen to head back to school for his final year!

BTS Cupcakes

Hubby and I popped in to grab our favorite Friday lunch from a local grocery store’s deli, and I saw these cute Back to School cupcakes, so of course, I had to get them for the Teen.  Aren’t the little chalkboards just precious?  While glad to get cupcakes, he thought the little plastic decorative rings were corny.  Haha!  He is NOT a fan of plastic decorative rings in his cupcakes.  Ask me how I know.  And click that link for a big laugh!  I’m so glad I recorded those memories on my little blog.

BTS Beanie Babies

And also, because it’s back to school time, I had to pull out the August Beanie Babies!  I have Books the Bear with his sweet little blue backpack and August the Bear because it’s August and my birthday month!  Yay!

Busy BTS Week Ahead

The Teen has Senior Breakfast on Wednesday morning and goes to school for a half day for orientation.  Thursday morning is the Senior Ride-In, where the class caravans to school and arrives together wearing their senior jerseys.  Thursday also starts the first day of school.  Whew!  Here we go!  There will be a lot going on this year, and so much to keep up with.  I’m excited for him, even though I’m still stunned that we are finally here.  I swear I just dropped him off at three-year-old kindergarten yesterday! *sniff*

And Other Updates

We think we have nailed down (no pun intended!) a roofer!  I met with a friendly roofing company owner last week, and he came in right for our insurance estimate, so that’s one thing taken care of.  I feel much better about that part, but I know more decisions will come.  I’m still waiting on the tree removal company to give me an estimate.  He said he would be here last Thursday, and I haven’t seen him yet.

Also, as Hubby and I left the grocery store Friday, it suddenly clouded up and looked like rain!  We have been under a heat advisory for a couple of weeks.  We only got a couple of sprinkles because the storm was to the east of us, but the clouds lasted a few hours, and the temperature dropped to 82!  It felt so amazing!  I was so thankful for that little break from this sweltering heat.  We have a chance of rain Tuesday!  Fingers crossed!

Hope you have a great start to your week!

There is a lot going on during the senior year as plans are being made for after graduation. I for one am glad we are past writing all of those college application essays. Good luck with it all.

The different school schedules always take me by surprise in this huge country of ours. We don’t start until after Labor Day. Of course, we don’t end until late June. So I guess it all evens out!!

Wow, school starts early there! Here, it usually doesn’t start till the day after Labor Day. When I was a kid we always started on a Wednesday, right around Aug. 24 or 25. I remember that because my sister’s birthday is the 24th, and my brother’s is the 25th. So I just always remember starting school that week. lol

Hope it is a good school year. It started back here last week. It just seems amazing to me. We do year round school here, with lots of 2 week breaks during the year.
Glad it cooled for you. Hope you get rain.

School here doesn’t start for a few weeks. It used to not start until after Labor Day, but that’s changed. Hope your son has a great Senior year. I checked your link on the Smurf cupcakes. It does start early, and I get how he was feeling.
    Hooray for a roofer!
It was quite warm here last week too, but we got rain yesterday. This morning, it’s only 61 degrees!
