I’m Trying To Read Your Blog, But…

I’m currently going through a crisis of bloggy proportions. I’ve mentioned in the past that I literally read hundreds of blogs, but all of that has almost come to a screeching halt because all of my feed readers are failing me. I’m trying to read your blog, but…..

It all began when Bloglines switched their format and broke my heart. I really, really tried to like the new look, but I never could get used to it, so I ditched it. I tried to love Google Reader. I even tried to just use the feed option in Internet Explorer. I finally settled on Feed Reader 3, a program I actually had to download to my computer. Apparently, I broke it. Which is a shame, because although it wasn’t very user friendly for adding in blogs to read, I loved how it sort of reminded me of Bloglines. I’m just so tired of having to transfer blog subscriptions to all these places because sometimes I have to do them one by one, which takes forever.

So, I’ve decided to severely limit my blog reading to my very, very favorites (which is hard, because there are so, so many) and subscribe to them by email. My only problem now? Not all of my favorite blogs offer a subscription by email. Arrrghhh!! I’m also a little concerned that this may become very overwhelming to keep up with. But, it would be so much faster of I didn’t have to even go hunt for my blogs. I could read them through email on my phone if I wanted to, since some days I don’t even sit down at my home computer.

So, I’m curious. How do YOU read your blogs? Feed reader? Email subscription? Visiting them one by one?

And if you’re reading this and you blog…offer an email subscription to yours!!

You can subscribe to me by email (hint, hint!)

Just seen a review of Feedly – I might check it out.

    I tolerate Google Reader…..just!

This is also my problem. I used to read hundreds of blogs, but they were to hard to keep up with on shook, the rss reader I used. I now just use email to read blogs, but I want to read more…if only they had email subs available!

I have come to love Google Reader. For me it’s quick, easy, and syncs up nicely. I can’t deal with the e-mail subscriptions since they clog up my morning in box. I guess that’s why I don’t have that for my blog (yet). I also follow some on Facebook since they update, but as you know that’s quirky as well.

I’m crossing my fingers that Santa will bring me a new laptop….then I can use the IE feed option again. I just want everything in one place again. I’ll always keep up with you, though! 🙂

I am soooo with you on the readers! I have trouble with them since I started reading blogs! I sub to email all the time… if a reader is all they have it will be hit or miss if I ever read it. sadly…

I know what you mean, Faythe. I’m still scared I’m going to be overwhelmed with emails. But, it might be the best way for now until I find another reader. So great to see you stop in! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

I use Feedly and email subs. Feedly is awesome. By the way, your charmin ads are infringing on your content. It looks bad.
