I thought I messed up big time yesterday! I logged in to WordPress to finally make a blog post and saw that I had some updates that I needed to do. I did them all, but one had special instructions to log into my hosting company to complete. Well, I did that and thought I would also clear my blog cache while I was at it. Oops! My blog suddenly went poof and was gone! Thank goodness I have a blog backup plugin that I run regularly. I toodled around with it and was finally able to restore everything. I would have hated to lose 17 years’ worth of posts. I really need to look into one of those companies that can print your blog into a book form so I can keep it around. More later on that! Haha!
Hubby and I made our every-three-month trek to the endocrinologist right before the 4th of July. Here I am, trying to enjoy the car ride. Car rides are so rough on me now. I hate it, but it has to be done.

I got an excellent report on my blood sugar levels and was very excited! Adding Mounjaro has made a tremendous difference, and I am truly grateful for that. I never thought I would see the day when my A1c levels were very near normal.
After our appointment, we decided to try a new place for lunch. We went to Toasted Yolk, which serves breakfast and brunch-type foods.

I had the shrimp and grits. It was pretty good, but I thought the way the bread on the sides looked like my dish had devil horns. Haha!

We even saw a cyber truck parked nearby when leaving. I have never seen one out in the wild before, so this was a neat sighting! I’m positive I would never want to own one of these, but to each their own!

After that, Hubby was a good sport and took me to Bath & Body Works! This was my favorite part of the whole trip!

B&BW is rolling out their fall scents, and they were also having their semi-annual sale! I was able to score some of my favorite body care items and a candle for super cheap! They will be having another huge sale like this starting the day after Christmas, so if this is your jam, mark it down! I’m looking forward to seeing what they have on sale for the next one. It’s such a great sale for gift-buying.
The day of our appointment was also our 26th anniversary, so it was nice to spend the day together in another place doing different things. Hubby also surprised me that morning with roses! I love them so much and placed them on the foyer table! Unfortunately, by the time I took this picture, they were drooping a little.

We had a great Fourth of July. Hubby’s cousin, her husband, and her little girl came to spend the afternoon with us. We had a great visit, and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. I took a picture of his plate to share.

Hubby made my mama’s beloved potato salad, and he did a wonderful job! We had a great visit with them and look forward to seeing them again soon!
With hubby being off that week, we were also able to accomplish a lot of the big jobs I couldn’t do around the house alone, such as cleaning out both refrigerators, moving them out to sweep and mop behind, etc. It feels good to have that done, and it looks so much better!
Last week was a whirlwind as well. SO yet again, I am behind reading blogs and blogging. I was kind of in a daze when I thought I had lost my blog. I sure would have hated to lose all of my sweet memories here. I think I mentioned before that I really wanted a new blog design, so I was trying to console myself by saying it was ok and that I could start over. Then I went pricing new blog designs and quickly decided that no, I’ll just keep what I have here! I’ve had this design for about 9 years now, and when I went to see what a new design would cost, I almost passed out! I don’t doubt that a designer’s work is worth it, but I just cannot afford those prices right now. I kind of wish now I had stayed with Blogger when I first started blogging. But, I’m just glad to have everything restored here, and I will NOT be pushing buttons on the back end of my blog that I know nothing about. Haha!
Annnnnyway, I hope you have had a good start to your week, and I’ll be around to visit blogs soon!

Happy Anniversary! That is a wonderful milestone. 17 years for the blog is another milestone! I was on Blogger then moved to WP and got hacked and almost lost it all. Like you I was freaked out. I was so shaken that I moved back to Blogger a few months later and I’ve been there ever since. If you ever want to move back it’s pretty easy and can be done, plus, Blogger is still free and the themes for a new design are like 15 bucks on Etsy. Just a thought…and I too have considered getting my posts bound. If you find the company let us know!!
I am so glad you didn’t lose the blog…and you look great! Wishing you a lovely day my friend.
Very happy you didn’t lose your blog! Great news on the doctor front and Happy anniversary! There is someone in our small town that owns a cyber truck and I personally think they are ugly, but to each his/her own. Hope you have a good rest of your week.
Thanks Rachel! Yep, I don’t especially care for the design of the Cybertruck, either. It’s so weird-looking, like something out of an apocalyptic movie! Haha!
So glad you got a good doctor’s report! There is a Toasted Yolk in Memphis/Germantown and I have been a few times. I am also glad to hear you recovered your blog and content! That would be tough to lose. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Thanks, Marilyn! I do love those brunch-type places, and I wish we had one nearby.
Hello Lovely Mandy!
How wonderful that the med is working so well for you. That’s awesome!!
How scary about your blog. I hadn’t thought about trying to get all of my posts put into albums – but that would be so cool to do. 17 years – wowzers!! That’s a lot of posts and memories.
Looks like you’re having some great summer fun with relatives. And with great sales! I love B&B too 🙂
Blessings. xoxo
Yay! I found someone who enjoys my Bath & Body Works obsession as well! Haha! They have come out with SO many good fall scents. You should definitely go check them out!
Happy anniversary!
How wonderful that your A1c numbers are looking so much better! I’m glad the medication is helping.
I’m also glad that you were able to restore your blog! I’ve never heard of a company printing out the blog. But, I know of at least one blogger who prints out her posts and has them in a binder.
Hey Bless! I think printing them out could be a good option, too. I’m going to investigate ordering books from a blog more. I know of one blogger who does it. I need to see what she uses, because I know she was very happy with the service. Hope you are having a good week!
How many volumes of books would it take to print all of your years of blogging? I haven’t blogged as long as you, but it seems overwhelming to put everything in paper form. If you decide to do that, I will be interested in how that works.
So happy that you have good A1-C numbers!
Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m sure it might take several books! Haha! But, for a few years, I rarely posted personal posts. It was all mom-blogging stuff, so I’m sure I could cut out a lot of that, and it might not be so much. I will investigate this further. I know it would probably be time-consuming.
What a relief that had to be on the blog. Please tell about this company that prints things into a book!!! Never heard of that. I will stick with blogger.
That is one ugly vehicle!
Such pretty roses. Glad your numbers were good!
Thanks, Cheryl! I’m going to find the name of the company that does this. I read a woman’s blog who gets hers printed each year, and I will definitely let you know!
What a relief that you didn’t lose your blog & all of your posts! Very happy for you that your numbers look good. That’s fantastic news.
Thank you! It was a BIG relief! It feels good to be finally headed in the right direction!
Hello! Wow! I’m so happy you were able to restore your blog! Lovely picture of a beautiful you! I like seeing pictures of my blog friends from time to time. I am also happy your appointment went well. That is always the best feeling, isn’t it? When you get into the car after the appointment, you can breathe!! I hope you are having a cozy afternoon. It looks like storms here in Maryland. I am comfy on the couch! So happy to see you back here, my friend.
Hey Billie Jo! I hope your storms weren’t too bad. I do love a good afternoon storm! It’s the best for napping! Yes, I am so relieved that my blood sugar numbers seem to be improving so much. It’s been a struggle for years (and trying SO many medications) to get to this point.
