To make mealtimes easier, I try to have some parts of the meal prepared beforehand. Or I get out what I need (minus perishables) in the morning and put it on the counter first thing in the morning.

We like to use the Crockpot. It doesn’t heat up the kitchen either!

Plan a weekly menu, buy all the ingredients needed for the week, and sometimes cook the main part of the meal (ie, meat) the night before to get ahead!

We have meal plans and pre-cook some of the ingredients in big batches (grilled chicken, or boiled eggs) so we can just heat them up or add to it.

To make mealtime easier in Summer, I sometime make a big bowl of pasta salad or potato salad and make sure we have plenty of cold deli meats, good bread and cheese and lettuce, tomatoes etc. Then for two or even three days we will have sandwiches and cold salad.

Meal planning and eating simple meals are the only things that help us. We have our plan written out on the fridge so no one has to ask what’s for dinner or come up with something last minute.
Theron N.Willis says
I make large batches to store in the freezer. That way I can heat and serve without fusing over the stove top.
Hope to win!

Our schedule doesn’t get more hectic in the summer. Everything is pretty much the same throughout the year. We cook and eat whatever we’re in the mood for no matter what time of the year it is. If we’re out somewhere, we eat out.
Cody says
When life gets hectic, we find it easy to succumb to fast food or odering pizzas. However, I usually will try to plan dinner the night before so I can have things prepared. That way, it doesn’t seem like such a task the next night.
