Our little town is not short on restaurants with some version of “Joe” in the name. We have Hey Joe’s, No Way Jose, and now a Senor Jose. Last Thursday, Hubby and I went to Hey Joe’s for lunch. It was late, and everywhere else was closing. We didn’t want fast food, so I hopped online and noticed Hey Joe’s was open all day and into the evening. It’s not a restaurant we usually choose, and I’m not really sure why. It’s located downtown and is always hopping. It has an outdoor patio area with two stories; people love it, especially the kids. It’s always lit up at night and there’s always something going on…trivia night, bands, etc.
These really tall doors greet you when you walk up.
I felt like a little ant reaching up to open them. Haha! There’s also a cool piano on the wall across from the doors. We have several of these painted pianos located in our downtown area.
The menu has a little of everything, mainly sandwiches, and I decided on the Kevin Bacon burger.
It was absolutely delicious! All of their burgers come with a pickled okra on top. How cool is that? At the bottom of this picture, you can probably see that each table is covered with pictures of movie/music stars. But, more impressive than that is these cool bottle chandeliers throughout the inside.
I had just about finished my meal when I looked up and spotted this:
It’s the last supper of Mississippi Delta blues artists. Wild!
But, if you ever find yourself in Cleveland, Mississippi, and are looking for a great burger, Hey Joe’s won’t disappoint!
I love to try out those eclectic restaurants. Most of the time, they have amazing and interesting food. This place looks amazing! I’m glad you were able to try it.
I’m glad we went, too! It had probably been a year since I had been there. We plan to go more often for sure!
I had to look up where Clevland Mississippi was. We have never been in that area, but if we do, that restaurant looks great!
Cleveland is a happening little place if you are ever in the Mississippi Delta!
I love places like that, filled with personality. It makes dining out so much more interesting!
It does, and we have so many of them here!
It looks like a yummy and fun place to visit!
It was! So much to look at and take in!
Hi! My father was born in Cleveland in 1905! My grandmother was from Yazoo City.
Hey Joe’s looks like a fun spot and your burger looked delicious. The name made me laugh because I have a bacon loving son whose name is Kevin. 😀
Oh wow, Judy! That is amazing! Do you still have any family here? So neat to have someone visit my blog with ties to Cleveland!
That looks like a fun place!
So much fun! Just so many cool things to look at in there!
This looks like such a cool place! I will have to go here next time I am there.
You definitely should. It’s a big hit with the DSU crowd!
