We are now into Easter Week! A friend posted this on Facebook, and I thought it was a great little bit of Easter info:
I finally dug my Easter Beanie Babies out with a week to spare! I got these put up last week, but I just remembered to get a picture. I used to have some bunny Beanie Babies, but I think I culled those from the collection. Anyway, these are just as cute!
On Friday, I had a morning appointment, and then hubby and I went to Wal-Mart to pick up the groceries. It was a rainy day, and I would have preferred to stay in and have these delivered, but since I was getting out anyway…
After that, it was lunchtime, so we picked up the Teen, who was finished with classes, and decided to try out a new restaurant called Yomato Steakhouse. It recently opened, and I wanted to see what it was all about.
Well, BIG portions are what it’s all about, haha! But seriously, each dish came with so much food! I must have felt extra adventurous because I wanted to try sushi, so I ordered the “Mississippi Roll,” made with fried catfish, snow crab, avocado, masago, and special sauce.
It sounded good enough, but I soon discovered I was not too fond of the smell of seaweed. It was very pungent! I couldn’t believe I was so sensitive to it! So, I did what any unsophisticated Southern girl eating a sushi roll does: I unrolled it and just ate what was inside. I ended up eating two this way and giving the other six to hubby. Hey, at least I tried it!
What I did enjoy was my Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box! It was really good, and I would definitely order this again. It came with Miso soup, which isn’t pictured, and that was my first time trying that as well. Overall, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was great! We ended up bringing a lot of leftovers home!
That night, Hubby and The Teen saw the new Ghostbusters movie. I’ve only seen the first one, which came out in 1985 when I was ten! One of my favorite memories is when the neighborhood girls and I would lace up our roller skates, throw on the Ghostbusters soundtrack cassette tape into the Boom Box, and skate in the driveway. Such simpler times!
The rest of the weekend went downhill as I came down with a virus or something early Sunday morning. The Hubby and The Teen never got sick, so I’m unsure what that was about. But I rallied by Monday morning and made it to my cardiologist appointment, where I got a good checkup and will return for another one in December. The rest of Monday was spent monitoring the storms that came through. We managed to fare ok. I sure hope everyone else did, too! I hope your Easter Week is off to a good start.

I’ve had sushi many, many times & still don’t enjoy it. It’s the texture of the raw fish that’s a problem for me.
Hope you’re feeling better!

I’m so glad someone understands! Haha! Yes, the texture and the smell just make it a firm NO for me now. But, I’m glad I gave it a go. Now I know!

My husband came home from the gym last night singing the Ghostbusters theme song. So funny, it’s back! Glad you’re doing well, Happy Easter!
Mandy says
Haha! That song is very, very catchy! I love when it comes on the 80’s channel in the car.

Cute Beanie Babies! So glad your cardiologist appointment went well and the results were all good. I am not a big fan of sushi, mostly because I don’t like cold rice, but, I almost always order teriyaki beef or chicken bento meals. They are my favorites! Wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter.

The music from the first Ghostbusters movie is the best. I never quite got the hang of roller skating, or I would have been right there with you doing the same thing.

Glad to hear you got a good report and are also mending well from whatever ailed you.
Yeah, no sushi for me – not even gonna try! The rest looks good.

Glad you got a good report and are feeling better! We have had a lot of rain here too. I will be glad to see the sun later this week. It is such a good reminder to read about all the events of Holy Week.

Your restaurant looks good and I would like the teriyaki chicken too. No sushi for me though. You were brave to try it!
Glad your virus was short lived and hooray for a good report from cardiology!
