If you’re still searching for the perfect holiday gift for someone, have you thought about a great bottle of wine?  It makes a fantastic token of appreciation to a holiday party hostess.  Perhaps you like to occasionally enjoy a glass of wine yourself.  Does the idea of choosing your own bottle and having it shipped directly to you appeal to you?  If so, The California Wine Club is your online destination for great tasting wines.

What I love about The California Wine Club is that it offers wines from smaller family-owned wineries, introducing customers to wines they might not otherwise discover on their own.  I think that alone makes these wines pretty special.  They also take the guesswork out of choosing from thousands and thousands of bottles of wine.

The California Wine Club has four Wine of the Month Clubs to choose from, all backed by their guarantee of club members and gift recipients never receiving closeout, bulk, or private label wines.  Also, they offer memberships to fit every budget.  You can also choose the option of red or white wine depending on your individual taste.

For my 2 month Premier Club Membership, I received two bottles of wine, one white and one red, from the Robledo Family Winery.  I know very little about wine, other than if I enjoy the taste or not, so here are my thoughts on the two I received:

Robledo Family Winery 2009 Napa Valley “Seven Brothers” Tempranillo-  This is a rich, red wine that would be perfect for pairing with meats or a heavy meal.  I thought this particular wine was very flavorful, but it was a bit too bold for me.  I’m a lightweight, what can I say?

Robledo Family Winery 2008 Lake County “Seven Brothers” Sauvignon Blanc-  This white wine was my very favorite of the two I received.  It was light and fruity and I really enjoyed it.  I would highly recommend this particular bottle, especially if you like a lighter-tasting wine.

So far I am very pleased with my shipment from The California Wine Club and definitely think this is a great way to purchase wines or wine gifts.  It’s fast and convenient and you can cancel at any time.  I’m looking forward to my shipment next month.
