Spread the love

Good morning!  Happy Valentine’s Day to all!  I hope today is fun and you feel loved!  I woke up at five before everyone else and had some quiet time before coffee.  Then, hubby came downstairs and gathered his things to leave for work.  He was going in and out of the door, and I didn’t think anything about it.  I heard him talking to someone and then noticed a car drive off.  He walked back into the house and presented me with this:

chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day

Oh my goodness!  He had a coworker’s mom make these for me, and she delivered them right before she had to go to work!  Aren’t they gorgeous?  I’ve already sampled one, and they are delicious! You’ll never see me turning down chocolate or strawberries!  Haha!

Mama Update

Yesterday, my mama and I headed out to make the trip for her appointment with the vascular surgeon.  We made it just in the nick of time but waited on her doctor for almost an hour.  Grr.  He explained that she needed the valve replacement done, but it wasn’t urgent.  We decided to schedule the surgery for later in May when the Teen is finished with school.  That way, I don’t have to worry about him missing school, and I can manage her and him better.  Hubby is gone during the week, and only one of me is here to do these things, so that is settled for now.

We made it home around 4 p.m., and Hubby also made it in for the night.  He wanted my cabbage soup, so I made that and did his laundry before crashing at 10.  The long car ride to and from was painful but not as bad as last time.  I slept well last night and felt better this morning.

Graduation Plans

While making the drive yesterday, my mama and I started making plans for The Teen’s graduation party.  I think we have decided to use the church fellowship hall and get some catering done.  We will decorate it with lots of balloons and such in the Teen’s school colors.  I need to get busy ordering a cake as well.  We decided to do it around lunch, and I hope we can pull this off!  Haha!  I need to make some calls and start looking at the things we will need to purchase.  I’m just so excited for him!  So, if you have any tips for a great graduation party, I am all ears!

And that’s about all I have for today!  Do you have big Valentine’s Day plans?  Hubby left for work and won’t return until Friday, so it’s just the Teen and I tonight!

Some delicious looking strawberries! Glad your mother’s surgery can wait until the summer. Have fun planning your son’s graduation party! I just had a lunch at home for my daughter’s graduation.

That was a sweet surprise from your hubby! They look wonderful!
Glad you all made it through the appt and now you have a plan. 🙂
As for the graduation party, I think you’re smart to use church. We did our first one at home and getting it all ready is a lot. The next two we did at church – much better plan!

Those strawberries are beautiful. What a fun surprise. I’m glad you have some answers and plans for your mother’s surgery. That’s somewhat of a relief. We had a backyard cookout for one of my son’s graduation party, and the other son shared an open house with a friend. Good luck with your planning.
