Good morning!  It’s Monday again, and the weeks are just flying by.  Pretty soon, schools will be starting again around where I live.  I’ve even heard of some in our state starting next week!  Yikes!  Young Man is set to start back at college in the middle part of August, so we still have a little time to prepare for that.

Since I last blogged, I haven’t been up to too much.  This next week will be “cleaning week” at home.  I dust every two weeks, but I keep the laundry/cleaning bathrooms/vacuuming/mopping going on an as-needed basis, which is often. It’s time to do the dusting again, so I will start upstairs and work my way down.  It may take me several days, but it has to be done.  One thing I have been doing is keeping the house smelling nice.  This is my current favorite candle from Bath & Body Works.  It smells so good!

In my last post, I mentioned that I was considering having my blog printed in book format.  I found two online resources that offer this service.  The first site is PixxiBook, and the second is Into Real Pages.  I’ve never used either of these, but I think I would lean more toward PixxiBook simply because their design options seem much nicer.  I played around with PixxiBook, and apparently, it would take several of these books to print my entire blog. However, I think that once I remove all the review posts/sponsored posts that I used to include, I could condense it down significantly.  It’s still somewhat pricey, but if you bought one volume a year, it would be manageable.

Hubby cooked a great sheet pan meal Saturday night.

sheet pan meal

We sort of follow Mari’s recipe, but we use different seasonings (we use Cajun Two Step), and it was so good!  Such a quick and easy meal with easy clean-up if you use a disposable pan.

I went to church yesterday, and it felt good to get out of the house. (I had to crop out the person next to me that I took a picture with, haha!)

church

I stay at home most days, except when I visit my mama, and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to go.  I felt a little nauseous on Saturday night, but by the time it was time to get ready for church on Sunday, I had recovered.  It was good to see everyone there.  Sometimes I feel a little sad when I attend church because our attendance has dropped significantly in the past few years.  There are many reasons for that, but our church family is still amazing, and it’s not the size of the congregation that makes a church.

garden veggies

One of hubby’s coworkers brought over two sacks of veggies from his garden!  Yay!  And my next-door neighbor dropped off a huge bag of corn she had picked!  So, I will be busy putting up corn and veggies this week!  What a blessing!

I don’t have anything terribly interesting going on this week.  It is supposed to be SUPER hot, so I’ll be indoors as much as possible, keeping the chores going and reading.  I finished two books last week that I bought at our library’s used book sale, and I have pulled out a couple more to start on.  Hope your Monday is off to a great start!

The sheet pan dinner looks good. I tend to cook everything on the stove top and rarely use the oven, but, maybe, this winter, I’ll try making more oven cooked meals to help warm up the house a bit.
Stay cool when it is so hot.

I’ve made Mari’s sheet pan dinner many times. Always so good and easy! I’ve noticed all the stores are filled with back-to-school supplies now. I really hate to see summer end!

    Hello Dear Lady
Such a cute photo and you’re so pretty. 🙂
That meal looks so good 😋
I can’t believe how fast summer is flying either. Annie heads back to FL mid August because she’ll start the following week. I”m enjoying every precious moment I get with her. 🙂
I hope you have a very blessed week ahead and stay cool. xoxo

I think attendance has been down at most churches (and a lot of other places) since COVID. Many churches offer a recording of the service, so I think some people are “attending” that way. I am glad you were able to get out and go in person.

Sheet pan dinners are so good! I need to make that again too. Bet those cajun seasonings added some good flavor.
Cute pic of you – you look great!

    Those tomatoes!!!
I have printed my blog from the beginning but the company I used quit last year so I need to check out your two links. I had planned to research but life has been so busy for me that I haven’t done it so your links will be a start. I decided at some point that the blog was a little journal and that the kids might like it one day and I am sure I won’t blog forever and since I use blogger you never know when they just decide to quit too, so the books will have the record.
It is almost school time here as well. The kids start the second week of August but I am going to have almost all of the grandkids the week before. It should be more than a little loud and chaotic here.
It is too hot to even go outside. WE are getting a whopper of a hot summer this year. August heat came in July.
