We are getting ready for TAVR!  My mom will be having her heart valve replacement procedure tomorrow.  It’s a day she and I have been anticipating and dreading at the same time.  I wrote a little about it back in January. The day is almost here, and while we are both nervous, I am praying all will go well, and my mama will start feeling much better.  When she had her bypass and valve replacement surgery last time, she was fitted with a bovine valve.  I think this one will be mechanical and should last much longer.

Happy Birthday To Hubby!

We had a very relaxing weekend, minus all the laundry and cooking.  Friday was hubby’s birthday, so we ordered some Mexican food, and I made him a Dolly Parton/Duncan Hines strawberry cake.  We spoiled him with Texas Rangers-themed gifts.  It’s his favorite baseball team!  I hardly ever see my husband cry, but he cried happy tears when they won the World Series this past year!  Haha!

I’m happy to report that the cake is delicious!  I will definitely be trying more from Dolly and Duncan Hines’ collaboration.

I also made some poppyseed chicken Saturday night.  It’s such a pain to make, but it is SOOO good!

Time To Chill

It was nice to have a chill weekend after last week’s graduation festivities. I caught up on some blog reading, podcast listening, YouTube watching, and emails. Hubby and I also went to our local thrift store, which I am sad to say is closing next month. I found my mama a ton of the Love Inspired books she likes to read for ten cents a piece!  I’m sure going to miss that store, and I’m hoping they can find a way to keep it open.  This economy is so frustrating, especially for small businesses.

Not much else to report.  I probably won’t be able to post again until Thursday or Friday, but if you can, please pray for my mama.  She is very nervous, but I’m praying all will go well so she can get this behind her.  Have a great week!

Aw, I hope all goes with your mom this week. I’m glad you had some downtime with so much going on at this time. I am a fan of poppysesed chicken, but just don’t eat it too often. Hope you can rest well this week with so much on your mind.
