Getting My Drink On At Taco Bell

I love margaritas, especially while enjoying great Mexican food. I hardly ever get to have one for various reasons (usually dining with child…or dining with a grandparent or other family member who might catch a case of the vapors if they saw me drink an alcoholic beverage or having to be the designated driver) and I’m not one to whip them up at home even though I could. I’m lazy like that. I want them prepared for me and nothing is worse than cleaning the blender….except maybe cleaning the George Foreman grill.

So imagine my delight when while making the lunch run at work the other day I discovered that Taco Bell had a new “fruity drink”. It’s the Classic Limeade Sparkler and I promise you it is the closest thing I have had to a margarita in a long time…without the alcohol! This drink was so fabulously good that I went through the drive thru for it twice in one day. Did I just type that out loud?

If you prefer your margaritas frozen, they also have the Classic Margarita Fruitista Freeze which I have not tried yet, but I’m sure is probably just as fabulous.

I’m sure you’re reading this and wondering if Taco Bell is compensating me in some way for telling you this. No, I assure you that is not the case. I made this sweet discovery all on my own. I could have been selfish and kept this to myself (more for me, hahahaaaa!), but I know there is some woman out there reading this who needs a cold, refreshing drink after a stressful day at work or with the kids and can’t indulge in the real thing for whatever reason.

And the best part? I’m pretty sure these non-alcoholic Taco Bell drinks do NOT induce the Southern girl’s mating call. (Oh my Gawd, y’alll…..I am sooooo drunnnnnkkkkk!!!!”)

You’re welcome.

I have not tried the lime or cherry sparklers yet, but I have tried both the classic and strawberry margarita freezes. I, too, went to Taco Bell twice (this week.)

The classic has an intense, incredibly lime flavor (and is topped with a lime wedge) and the strawberry is basically the same lime mix topped with the strawberries the strawberry freeze comes with, though I also take my strawberry maragarita with lime wedge. 😉

I find them fabulously limey and delicious, and hope they become permanent on the Taco Bell menu.

That Fruitista Freeze thing sounds pretty good. Although, I would probably have to take it back home and add some tequila to it! The southern girl mating call is heard most nights here is Starkville!
