Spread the love

If you absolutely love planners, then you’ve probably heard of the Erin Condren LifePlanner.  I happen to run across these planners last year while doing a little research to see what kind of planner would best fit my needs.  A teacher friend of mine had the Erin Condren Teacher’s Lesson Planner and I just loved how she could personalize the cover and it was so super cute!  I also read a few reviews online and finally came to the conclusion that I just HAD to have an Erin Condren planner and so I personalized and ordered my planner, purchased some cute pens and stickers to go with it, and patiently waited for my planner to come in!

2016 Erin Condren Planner Review

THE PLANNER

When my planner arrived, it absolutely did NOT disappoint!  The cover is sturdy and beautiful and I was especially excited about having my name on the front of it.

You don’t have to get your cover personalized, but it just adds a little something extra to it in my opinion.  There are so many beautiful covers to choose from, and narrowing down one was tough for me, but I was very pleased with this one.  The interchangeable covers (you can choose this option when you are designing your planner) are also designed to remove pretty easily, so you can change these out as well.  I see a lot of listings for Erin Condren planner covers on Etsy, so if you like switching things up, you aren’t necessarily stuck with what you pick.

INSIDE THE ERIN CONDREN PLANNER

You can choose your planner layout to be vertical, horizontal, or hourly.  I personally prefer the vertical weekly layout, which looks like this inside:

These are the pages where you can add in some fun planner stickers.

Each Erin Condren planner comes with a few planner stickers included.  I used some of the cuter ones above on one of my weekly pages, but I love buying and printing my own planner stickers.  You can even follow my Pinterest board for a ton of free printable planner stickers.  I’m always on the hunt for awesome planner stickers and save them on Pinterest.

PLANNNER ACCESSORIES

Once you get bitten by the planner bug, you’ll definitely start looking for super cute planner accessories.  I had NO idea when I first bought my planner that there were so many things you could get to make your planner experience even more fun.  It’s become somewhat of an addiction, but I just can’t help myself.  Especially planner stickers.  I just can’t get enough of those!  If you purchase an Erin Condren planner, you will receive a few stickers and planner clips to get you started.  It’s a great little extra and I always look forward to seeing what cute planner accessories will be included.

Here are a few of my favorite planner accessories:

These Erin Condren bookmarks snap right into your planner and mark your spaces that you use most.  I love these because last year I was just using a big metal paper clip to hold my space, but it was leaving ugly marks on each page.  This is the perfect solution and they come in so many cute designs so you can switch it up.

erin condren bookmark I have read a ton of blog reviews and watched a ton of video reviews on which pens are the best to use in planners.  I am definitely convinced that you don’t want to use a felt-tipped pen in your planner because it’s not going to write very well over stickers and they sometimes bleed through pages too much.  My personal favorite pens to use in my planner is the PaperMate Inkjoy pens.  They come in a variety of great colors, they don’t bleed through the pages, and they are very affordable.

Planner stickers are my obsession, and there are a ton of free options you can print yourself online.  However, if you like to buy them ready to peel and stick, these are cute to start with and provide lines to write important things down.

If you’re into meal planning, this snap in meal planner and shopping list is the perfect addition to your Erin Condren planner.  There is also a snap-in To-Do List option.

Serious planners also use washi tape to decorate their planner pages with.  Washi tape also makes great section dividers on a page.  This huge washi tape collection pictured below is so affordable and would be a fabulous collection to start out with or just add to your own collection.

To be honest, life got a little busy last year and sometimes I just didn’t have time to play around with planner stickers and all of that.  However, when I do have the time, I prefer to dress up my weekly pages and I love to see how others decorate their planners.  One thing I didn’t regret was spending a little extra money on this planner.  I normally used a regular planner that you can buy for around $7 in any office supply section of just about any store, but I truly enjoyed all of the extras that came with the Erin Condren planner (like a mini sticker book and compliment cards) and immediately ordered another one in December to use for 2017.  This planner really is very functional and you can really use each of the pages in some creative ways to fit your own preferences when it comes to a planner.
