I’m so excited to share with you the easiest charcuterie board ever, and my adventures in Walmarting that darn near left me crippled! Haha!
Easiest Charcuterie Board
On Christmas Eve, my daddy’s side of the family gathers at my aunt’s house, and we have snacks and treats and open gifts. I was thinking hard about what I could bring this year to contribute, and I love nothing more than a charcuterie board. I’m sure they are easy enough to put together, but when I thought about what I would need to purchase, it just didn’t seem like it would be very economical. Specialty cheeses, meats, nuts, fruit, and other spreads can quickly add up. I wondered if Walmart sold charcuterie boards since I had purchased those Hormel meat, cheese, and cracker trays in the past, AND GUESS WHAT??!! THEY DO!!
Y’all! I couldn’t believe my eyes. And for $13.87? Yes, indeed, get into my cart! I was howling when I saw the packaging when it was delivered! It even looks like an actual charcuterie board! The plastic handle looks like a wooden board! HAHA!
I bought two and plan on taking one to my aunt’s house and keeping one for us to snack on during the days after Christmas when you don’t want a lot of food but want to snack and graze. I hope it tastes as good as it looks.
Walmart Left Me Crippled
I went by my mom’s house on Monday morning to see if she wanted to take care of her errands. We decided another day would be best, so I decided that right then and now was a good time to get the tires replaced on our car. Hubby had been looking at some tires online at Walmart, so I rode up there on air and a prayer (because I had a low tire) to get that taken care of.
Backstory- Hubby got the oil changed in my car back in August. He took it to a local dealership, and while they did that, they also rotated my tires, which had never been rotated. Oops. My tires are three years old. So, when I got the car back, the tires were making an awful grinding sound. They sounded like mud tires on a truck, and the ride was rough! I called the dealership, and they assured me that the noise was caused by my tires that had never been rotated suddenly being rotated, and the noise would eventually go away.
Spoiler Alert (said in Morgan Freeman’s voice)….” but the noise, in fact, did not go away”.
So, I bopped into Walmart’s auto center, picked out some new tires, and figured I’d stroll around the store while waiting.
So I looked and looked and looked….and walked and walked and walked…and waited and waited and waited. It was almost three hours before the car was done. I should have left the car there and had my mom pick me up. But I lost track of time until about the last hour. And once I was back home, my feet were killing me. There is a reason I do grocery pick-ups and deliveries, and that reason is because I HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING ON MY FEET THAT LONG. You would have thought I’d remember, oh, about two days ago, when I overdid it with cleaning. By that evening, I had to take two Tylenol for the pain, but I woke up feeling better. However, I stayed in my loungewear all day and hardly accomplished anything. So, I’ve had enough Walmarting to last me for a long, long while! But I am happy to report that my car rides like a dream now, and no more grinding noise!
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!
I thought I’d close out by sharing this beautiful live Christmas swag at my mom’s house. It smells so good and Christmasy when I walk past it. She got me a small live tabletop arrangement, but I need to take a picture, so I’ll try remembering that!
I did manage to get a few stocking stuffer items purchased and wrap a few of the gifts that have been rolling in the past couple of days. I’m feeling a little better about it all, but I still need to make a final grocery list for Friday.

Glad you got your tires taken care of. I can’t stand on my feet for long, these days, which is another reason why I do curbside grocery pick ups!

Me too, Bless. I always do delivery or pickup. I guess I just got excited for being in an actual store! Haha! Never again!

Three hours in Walmart? I think I would go crazy. Glad you made it through and got some new rubber on your car though.
Mandy says
It was certainly interesting! Haha!

That was a deal for the charcuterie board.
The swag is gorgeous too.
Take care. I totally get the being on your feet too long. I have to do only a certain amount each day or I will not be worth anything at all the next 2.

Adorable charcuterie boards! For future, if you are making more than one, I find it more economical to buy the ingredients & make it myself. We also then make the leftovers into meal additions. We love doing a risotto with leftover charcuterie (fancy meat/cheese) – delicious!

Hello dear Mandy!
That charcuterie board looks wonderful! I hope it’s as yummy as it looks too! I have had those weeks of overdoing (why do we do those things?) and I’m glad you took care of yourself when you got home! But it’s good to know you have better tires and will be more safe.
I hope you have a very blessed Christmas my Friend! Wishing you all the best for 2024 ahead as well.
xoxo

What a great way to do a charcuterie board!
I got new times about a month ago and had a long wait too. Sorry you had to pay for it the next day.
Merry Christmas!

We usually get our tires from Walmart, but call ahead for an appointment. Despite the wait, you won’t have to think about tires for a while. Good to know about the snack tray at Walmart.

Glad the vehicle is fixed. Time can sure fly in a store!
The meat/cheese tray is very nice and a good price.
Get rested and have a great evening.

That’s a long stay at Wal-Mart, but such a good feeling to have new tires and feel safe on the road again. I just got new tires this month too. Enjoy your day!
