Looking for a simple Easter craft idea? A few years ago I tried a melted crayon craft here on the blog. It turned out pretty good, so when I spied the cutest little Easter Bunny cookie pan on a shopping trip a few weeks ago, that thought of playing with crayons again popped into my head. I could just see the cute little bunny crayons that were going to come out of that pan, so naturally, I bought it. I love Easter crafts, so this would be an easy one I could do.
I finally got a chance to play around with my newest idea and I love the way they turned out! If you are like the many parents I have seen on social media looking for a non-candy alternative to put into your child’s Easter basket, I promise these will make any child smile. Of course, you could go out and buy some regular old crayons, but if you love to get crafty, these are fun to make.
What You’ll Need:
Bunny Cookie Pan (I used this one by Wilton and purchased it at Target, but you can also buy it on Amazon).
Old peeled crayons
Instructions
Start by picking out some pretty spring colors and peeling your crayons. Make sure to break them into small pieces.
Then, simply lay the broken crayons into the pan. You’ll want to fill it in good and you might want to swap some of the colors around. It’s totally up to you!
Once you’ve got the crayons arranged, place the pan in the oven to bake at 150 degrees for 20 minutes. It may take a little longer depending on your oven settings. Once they are completely melted, place the pan into the freezer for 30 minutes. The little bunnies will just pop right out and won’t ruin the pan!
You can pretty them up by placing them in a cellophane bag and tie them up with ribbon. Since my son is too big to appreciate these anymore, I’m going to give them to some students I tutor and my little cousins who are learning how to color. It’s the easiest Easter craft I have ever attempted!
