It’s time for some catching up-class reunion style! In my last post, I mentioned planning to attend my 31st class reunion. It took place this past weekend and was so much fun! I wish I could share the pictures, but let’s face it, anyone who reads here probably doesn’t know anyone I went to school with. But more importantly, people value their privacy, which I take seriously. But, I will share this picture of the little balloon decor my best friend brought to decorate with. She went above and beyond to buy this, as well as tablecloths in our school colors and some festive glittery stars for the tables.
Class of 1992
We had around 25 classmates and several spouses of classmates to attend. It was great getting to catch up with everyone, and one of my oldest high school friends was able to make this one, and I was so excited to spend some time with her. I had the best little group of friends in high school. We’re all scattered about except for my bestie, who lives here, so I am so thankful whenever I can see any of them. They will always have a special place in my heart. We all shared so many laughs and memories. We looked through our senior yearbook and cracked up at our big early 90s hair. I’m sure the girls in my class alone are responsible for the ozone layer depletion with all of the hairspray we used through those years. But it was a great evening, and I stayed out way too late, but I never get out, so that’s my big nighttime excursion for the year! Haha!
TIP– Have your class reunion at a restaurant. All we had to do was show up, literally! Great food, a private room for our reunion, and NO clean-up necessary! Win-win!
Recovering
I spent all day Sunday recovering from the class reunion. Of course, I was tired from staying up so late, but more than anything, I think my nerves were just shot! Haha! Whenever I have to be around large groups, it makes me nervous and anxious leading up to it. Those old teenage feelings of worrying if you’re “good enough” resurfaced. The outfit I bought to wear didn’t work at the last minute, so I was less than thrilled with what I wore, and I have gained weight since high school. But in the end, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and even though I didn’t feel like I was at my best, I’m glad I went.
Back To Business
Today starts a new week of carpooling, laundry, errands, cleaning…the regular life stuff. I’ve spent the day helping my mama put clean sheets on her bed, tending to emails, filing our taxes (ughhhhhh), and making sure life keeps flowing in our home. But one thing I was proud of doing today was yoga! Yep, I found a yoga for beginners video on YouTube, and even though I looked like a hopeless drunk chicken while doing it, I felt so much better afterward. It even relieved some of the terrible shoulder pain I have. I am a side sleeper, and I rest my head on my left shoulder at night, so it always hurts. That alone has made a believer out of me! I plan to make this a daily habit. I also tried to do a walk-at-home video. Now, you’d think with it being just walking in place, it wouldn’t be so bad. It was TOUGH! I’m not yet up to that speed, so I’ll walk at our local walking trail. I’ve also gotten back to taking my favorite daily multivitamin, and I’ve added a magnesium supplement because I’m always running low on magnesium in my blood work.
Do you have a favorite workout? What do you do to help maintain your health?

I’m glad you had fun at your reunion! I have only been to one of mine, the tenth, and I was roped into being one of the hosts. I vowed to never do that again. We don’t really have them now, though. We had a small class- I went to a private school and graduated with 100 other people, and several of them have passed away since then. My alma mater hosts a certain class each year at the homecoming game in the fall, so I never want to go to those. I’m not really friends with anyone from then, though, so it’s not a big deal for me. Sadly, I have no routine to keep up my health, but I really need to start walking again. I am going to try to start that this week. I’ve heard so many benefits from just walking 30 minutes a day. I know my dogs would love to go with me, so maybe they’ll be my motivation. I hope your week gets off to a great start!

I hope you can get out with your dogs and enjoy this beautiful day! This reunion was definitely the smallest one we’ve had in the last thirty years. I hear ya about the hosting…I helped with the first one, and it was definitely stressful! Ha! This one was just so easy.

Glad you had a good time at the reunion. Well done trying out the yoga video, too. I’ve taken to simply walking up and down my driveway and in front of my house and my neighbor’s house. It’s like a T-shape walk. I set a timer and walk. My goal is to be able to walk for 30 minutes by the end of the month. I started out with walking for 10 minutes and built it up to 15; I’m trying to do 20 now. I have hip pains and I can’t walk fast, but, I do what I can.

A hopeless drunk chicken! You made me laugh. 🙂

You’re one of the lucky ones whose high school years were wonderful. Mine were not. I actually quit school . . . twice. I was surprised to be invited to the 10 year reunion. Hubby and I went, and it was pleasant enough but I still felt like an outsider, like it was all just pleasant toleration. I wasn’t invited to the 15 year reunion, and lost track after that. I think the reunions just sort of fizzled out after that. I used to sort of keep up with old classmates on Facebook. These days, if an old classmate sends a friend request I ignore it. I used to be so thrilled, like ‘Oh, they’re thinking of me?!’ but now it’s like ‘Nah, it’s been 30+ years of nothing so I don’t need to start now.’
Sorry for being all bitter and angry here!
I’m glad you had fun! =)
